Hi, Any tell me what is fake PR(Page Rank) and how it works. Please mentions any example on fake PR. Regards, Sandy John
Fake pr is where someone buys a dropped domain that still has pr3 for example, then they build a new site on it the greeen bar still says 3 but when you cache the page it will show the old site, when the new site is cached by google the pr will usually go to n/a as it would start at with any new site
Thanks Jim. However I have noticed that one of my sites taht I bought a long time ago as a PR3, stayed a PR 3 even after my complete new site was published using the old original URL.
Fake PR is created when someone redirects a domain name to another which already has a high PR. After the next update both domains typically get given the same PR after which the domain which was redirected is typically sold as a high PR domain or redeveloped. Either way when the next update occurs the PR will get wiped out and there are several tools available online to detect if a domain has fake PR.
Fake PR is a common SEO trick you should be aware of when doing a number of things from buying an attractive domain to buying page links or adverts. Domains with a fake PR are often banned from being indexed by google but more immediately important is that many sellers will advertise the domain as PR7 for example to raise the price you pay for it.
I haven't example but can suggest tool to identified the website that have original page rank whether fake page rank
Fake PR means domain redirected to another PR domain.so when PR updates, then the PR which domains get is Fake PR.
I just use DNScoop.com to see if the page rank is valid and also to check other stuff such as back-links and everything.
Fake PR in ONLY when you redirect ONLY google bot to a higher PR domain. In this case, on next update, your domain will (most likely) have the PR of the website you redirected (ONLY) google bot to. By "ONLY google bot" I mean that you can redirect normal users too, but they won't influence your PR.
Well, when ever you utilize the redirect then you will get a page rank that page rank is called as fake page rank actually...
As for detecting fake pr I am sure if they are redirecting the pr to high pr site, when you cache the page in question it shows the site they are reidirecting to and not the page you were viewing
