you won't see a page rank for a while. Google only updates their PR every 6 months.. so till then i would do as much backlinking as possible
It is for every 3-4 months. Don't take it as a compulsion, only Google knows when and how to update the Page Rank.
it usually varies from 3-6months it all depends on google and when they want to do it.. either way i wouldn't focus on it too much, just work on your seo when the PR gets updated
Don't get too distracted with Page Rank. It's not all that important. Just focus on the aspects of your site that's going to make you money. Work on getting some decent backlinks to your site and work on creating quality content. There's not 'quick' way to boost your Page Rank, except by getting quality links from websites with very high PR's... and that's no easy task. Good luck with your quest.
Well, PR is only important if you are planning to sell links, but should be more important to focus in getting unique content, building a nice site, getting visitors and trying to find a more reliable way to make money with your site. Now these days yes you can sell links with PR but I am sure that for the long run it will be a dead business.
Indirectly, a good running website with interesting and unique content will lead to a good pagerank. When website owners like a specific page on your website they will eventually link to it or link to your homepage. This again will lead to a new traffic source + possible pagerank juice. The same thing applies for the Alexa rank. Some people are really focussing to achieve a great rank, but that is just a waste of time and effort. When your site is popular, the Alexa rank comes by itself. As mentioned above by east, websites that are focussing on PageRank and Alexa rank only won't get far in the world of internet business. Yes, they might earn a bit with selling links, but soon they will start dying slowly.
If, you want to improve pagerank in quick time then you can start building backlinks from high PR sites.By doing that on next PR update your site will get higher pagerank.

ok, but if PR isn't updated yet and you have a lot of good quality links, will the position of your site for SE improve at once or only after the PR is updated?
PR updates every 3 months, during this time, you can build quality backlinks in dofllow websites and post good SEO content.
