I recently read in an article written by bing search engine about link building and on its list of link building strategies that can effect your link building in the wrong way is paid links. To quote what it said in a list of things not to do is " Paid links point to your website"

Now does that mean I should never pay anyone to put their link on their site? such as paid directory submissions?

Can you share the link where you have read the article?

Got a feeling this post is in a wrong category!

I would like to doubt the authority of the person who've written this. Judging from the Alexa, it is not a very popular website. Besides, the article provides no reference to the original source. Especially, in the section of Warning.

    This par is a LOL
This article gave me a great idea. I've got an online shop and there's a guy who's trying to outsmart me with his shop. What I'll do is pay somebody to get 1000 dodgy links pointed to his website in a short span of time. Bing will then come to his website and think: oh, 1000 links from a bad neighbourhood? Why don't I penalize him and push that other guy up?

    LOL :D LOL :D LOL :D
