    Personally, I will go for wordpress. Why? You will have full control over the site unlike blogger. There are many plugins and themes you can use to help in terms of SEO traffic.

    If you want to do something really professional, I will suggest you to go with Wordpress. Wordpress is best CMS for blogs. You can access server and make a lot of essential changes to your blog which you cannot do in Blogger.

    I would say its something like this
    Wordpress.org > Blogger.com > Wordpress.com

    Blogger.com is great if you want to start blogging. Full hosted WP is great when you have the money to take your blog to another level. It also depends on what your blogging on though as Blogger has started to make several improvements in a lot of aspects including designs option.

    I like Wordpress a lot, coz its pages are indexed in short time in google. It rocks, I remember that approx 15mins ago I posted an article on my WP blog and right after 15mins traffic from Google begun :D on that article :D

    I agree with others on Self-hosted WordPress Blog.
    • WordPress is easy to install and use.
    • Hundreds of plugins available for any requirement you can think of
    • Thousands of themes available
    • WordPress releases upgrades very frequently
    • WordPress can be used for both blog and CMS purpose
    • Most importantly, WordPress is search engine friendly and indexed very fast in Google
