    Hi Guys,

I just signed up with fatcow.com about a week ago, and I've noticed my site loads pretty slow, has anyone else experienced this issue?

I have wordpress installed, with no content or theme yet.. but it still loads pretty slow =/

What host would you guys recommend?

They are slow because they oversell there servers. For example ... the unlimited space and bandwidth ... you might be stuck on a server with sites which get decent traffic.

A previous client of mine used their services, and was reporting to me that he required FTP timeouts while transferring out some files -
I decided to take a look at it on my computer (I just assumed it was his slow internet connection), and noticed FatCow's FTP servers timed out on me as well/kicked me off.

    I wouldn't recommend them, ever.

If you are not happy with your existing web hosting provider - go ahead and change it. IMO there are plenty of their competitors over there which will be able to make you happy.

Fatcow have a 30 day money back guarantee - so if you are not happy request your money back immediately and change to a host that does not oversell their servers. There are plenty of good hosts around for the same price.

    Best of luck.

I would not doubt if it a slow host -- it is on their name FATcow...how can you expect a fat cow to move fast. it is good thing that there is no FATpig host. Now, joke aside, I think FatCow is really suffering from overselling and overpromising its customers.

Thanks for bringing this up here. FatCow is one of my choices for host right now -- I am actually still shopping for the right host for me.

If FATcow is reading this thread -- improve your service or else you will find your business cooked by its FATty oil. Shape up or ship out!

Customers deserve no second best. Customers deserved all the promises plastered on your website.

And until then, we should stay away from it.

What else do you expect from extreme oversellers like FatCow??
If you signed up with them 1 week ago, you can still get your many back and move on to a better provider. There are plenty out there who can give you much better hosting experience than those overseller hosts.

Check the offers section and do your research before signing up with a provider. Just stay away from any host that if offering "Unlimited disk space or bandwidth"

You can try some speed test (use google to find such tools). Google for "hosted by fatcow" to find another websites hosted by them and compare the speed of your website and other website. Compare the results and you will see if the problem is in your website or if fatcow is really too slow.
