I was heard google degrades the sites with .info domain. Does Google also degrades .net or .org domain?

There is no problem using any extension in terms of SEO. Google does not favor or degrade a site purely on the extension. Now as for brandability I would favor a .com

There does seem to be some sort of ranking bonus for .in and .co.in domains in Google.co.in.

You could also improve your rankings in Google.co.in by adding a physical address in India to your website, by hosting in India, and by obtaining links from other India based websites.

Not sure about other domains, must be the same.

Good point actually. Geotargeted domains are a separate story as I have done some experimenting in this realm and have seen .co.uk domains do better in uk searches in some instances.

Where did you hear this info from? Would you mind posting a source here? I have never heard nor seen about this story before. If it was about .info and disadvantage in ranking then I heard some.

Back to the topic - Those extensions do not have positive nor negative neither from Google perspective. :) Have you ever heard of seomoz.org?

Well, generally speaking, TLDs is not a concern in doing SEO in Google.

Google degrades a website not based on the domain name but the contents and quality

I don't think so. I think all domain suffix are there for special useful purposes. For EC sites online, I think .com would be the most popular.

    Thanks,

Check in Godaddy the price of .info. They are very cheap. For .com domains, your site ranks the 1st in SERP even you did least promotion if the searched keyword matches your domain. I wonder if it's the same for .info domains?

I nearly always buy .info from godaddy cos they are so cheap. It depends what you do with them.

If someone is looking for xxxxxxxxx information they would probably put xxxxxxxxx.com into their browser, so a .com has this advantage.
