An Quick thought Shawn, Why can't we can introduce a donate button in forum?
It includes a couple of things

    1. Custom Amount Donate button for the Forum

    2. Custom Amount Donate button for the Forum User (Some of the posts are awesome here. So if a visitor a.k.a say googler, like to give some bucks for a beer he can just visit the user profile and click the donate icon and the donation will be send to the respective user via Paypal mail address entered in the UserCP)

    DPians what's you Say??

I think i will love this one if implemented! :)

That's actually a pretty nice idea.
Over the years, I've had several mind numbing problems that have been solved by one of DP's many PHP/Apache nerds. I would have happily sent them a few dollars via PayPal.

Yep! I too thought of donating some guys in PHP Section!

Premium Membership costs around 130 bucks an year and $40 a month
But if we use the custom amount Donation we can donate as much amount we like and love :)

This gets my vote. I don't have the 130.00 However I would love to be able to send someone a few $ for helping me.

I like the idea in principle, but not sure how practical it is...

    1. We would have to start collecting PayPal info from users.
    2. It would add a decent amount of HTML to every post (making the forum slower).
    3. It would add more clutter to what I already consider too much clutter.

    1. If you need you can do that so! Else you can enable their Forum Email as the papal address and i would like if a box is there to add the paypal address if they posses :)

    2. Nope! Just like Premium membership icon in the Right, we can keep a small sized icon which speaks itself

    3. I hope this won't mess! But its upto your wish! :)

Put the code in the User Profile, not in every post.

I like the sound of this kind of mod. I've seen it used on other Webmaster Forums like WebTalkForums, and it usually goes by the name "Buy me a Beer", and the variant used on BHW "buy me some crack".

I noticed that you have the Premium Member badge, what about a Paypal Donate badge that looks alike to that one.

I love this idea... I'd think putting it in the profile is the best idea.

Then perhaps the user can put in their sig "Buy me a beer!" with a link to their profile or wherever :D

Since Donation is voluntary it should be made avaialbes as easier
Shortening with Bit.Ly people may think it may contain Spywares or some other!
