I want to make it more harder/annoying for webmasters to copy my backlinks. At the moment i am blog commenting and posting for backlinks, an this is very easy to copy by looking at yahoo backlinks.

But i was thinking if i could post place my links on high pagerank places which are nofollow, they would appear higher in the yahoo backlinks than the ones which i am actuslly benifiting from.

So my question is where can i post my links?

Hmmmm, you have trouble finding nofollow blogs? 99.99% of all blogs are nofollow. Just go to the high PR ones, how hard is that?

By the way, spam sucks and your methods are not effective, but then you didn't ask about that...

Blog commenting is a real waste of time for backlinks.

I actually think both blog comments (especially if moderated) as well as forum signatures are good ways to build your first 1,000 links to your site so that others do not copy them. I think most people when they are looking to copy backlinks are looking for the easiest and highest quality links. Neither technique you're talking about it adding an incredible amount of value (I don't believe they are worthless though) so another webmaster is not likely to attempt to copy them.

I continue to read about backlinks, but cannot get my arms around the concept. Is there a clear source on backlinks and their value.

A 1000 blog comments! That's mind-numbing, I could never do it. If you want to obfuscate your link profile, do something atomatic, like free directory submission (another waste of time otherwise).

That is a very interesting idea. It would work if your competitors are viewing your backlinks through site explorer, but not if they use one of the many tools to check google backlinks.

Hardly any tools find links independently, they mostly pull them from Yahoo. Yahoo is on the way out, but the new link analysis tool is the SEOmoz Open Site Explorer, which is the tool of the future I think (once they have further improved it). And I think it will be harder to obfuscate the link profile in it because of its filtering capabilities. For example, nofollow links can be filtered out with one click. A must tool for serious link people!

Sure i could find nofollow blogs, but was more looking for really high pr image hosting sites or stufff like that where i can comment on something leave a nofollow link. So yeah a bit of spam!

Yeah i would have done that but the pages im optimising are inner pages, so unless you can find many directories which accept quick and do deep linking let me know, lol?!
