Is anyone here listed in the business.com directory?
Are you getting any traffic from it?
Is it worth the $199/year fee???

Yes, I have a listing there and no, I don't get any traffic from it. I believe that it is a good move from an SEO standpoint if you have a real business (ie. I don't buy listings there for my hobby sites).

So I guess the $199 isn't justified at all if you don't get any traffic.

Business.com is full of camouflaged Adsense and some listings are “nofollow” this as been greatly discussed here at DP didn’t found the thread :p, some please say they get traffic. My opinion $199 year is to much for the value it gives.

Cash is hard to earn, and easy to spend, question the value you can get a lot of good directory submissions for $199

We submit for listings all the time and we get a lot of value added for 199 Bucks and we get spread and coverage

It depends, for some businesses 199$ per year is a joke and with just a single lead from Business.com they might get a positive ROI. It's all about ROI.

Agreed. In the case of business.com, I think you would be better off listing one of your other sites in a featured listing as aposed to listing a directory there. The people that visit that site are looking for quality services not a place to submit their website.

Just checked the page where I'm listed and "nofollow" is not found anywhere on the page.

Oh, and dkessaris is correct. Even further, for businesses such as mine, a sales cycle involves numerous individuals in a company and can take several months to complete. Sometimes folks in the purchasing depts. research potential new vendors to make sure they are not fly by night operators. It helps to be listed in well known business directories because the listings are seen by these people even if the link is not clicked.

I have two companies that both sell similar products. I list both in business.com.

I get a few referrals a month, but my average profit-per-sale is probably about $1200.00 so it's fairly easy for me to cost justify. The primary reason though is that my toughest competitors are in it, so I must be.

A secondary reason is that inbound link quality (Bob Mutch has a rating system) to the directory seems pretty solid. I probably would not list for that reason alone, but since I'm spending the money on it anyway, it helps me digest a price I'd otherwise choke on.

    /tom/

BTW: I had a very bad experience with their PPC. Fraud is in my view very rampant there.

I'm listed there, and havent gotten any traffic on my sites. As stated above for my site the amount we can make on a single sale is greater then the price per year so it is worth it. Yahoo.com's dir drove 5 people to my site yesterday, now that is some good stuff!

Also the sites i have listed in yahoo.com's dir seem to rank considerably better in yahoo.

OK. From what I have read here, I would not be paying the $199 fee to get listed on business.com :)

I don't get the traffic from my business.com listings but if SEs use a listing there as part indication that you're a serious business rather than an MFA... it may be worth the $199 :)
