What are the best ways to get affiliates? Personally, I believe having a good affiliate backend with banners and support helps when they actually visit your site, but obviously getting them to the site in the first place can be the problem. Forums seem to be a great way to get affiliates, but obviously this is sort've limited to the people activiely looking to promote new products on that paticular forum. Obviously this relates to my Migraine Relief Book, but I am looking for the "general" techniques that people are using.
Do it manually Search in google for people with websites / blogs / newsletters relating to your product - check that they get traffic and approach them with a personal email - showing your conversion stats, promotional materials, and even offer to help them setup. I've been searching for the magic bullet in affiliate recruitment for 3+ months, and forum posting your stats and updates does work, but imo and experience it is still mostly about key relationships with key people in your industry.
I have to agree with the affiliate resources section, for me this plays a huge role as I dont really want to have to spend time making my own resources i.e. banners etc.
I feel like my resources section is good, so maybe Submp3s is right and trailing Google would be a good idea.
I think showing stats that your product is converting well is very helpful, as is having a good affiliate section. By the way, I agree, you do have a very good affiliate page!
Getting those email address is hard.. Even then. Getting a response is harder. All you can do is keep trying. Send out quality email blasts from well harvested lists and be careful not to spam hosting company support emails by accident. If anyone wants to trade ideas or lists PM me.
I've been trying with clickbank but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I decided not to give up. Now I'm trying on travel sites. Do you know what would be a good way to try on this one with clickbank?
I'm launching my new ptc site next week, if anyone wants to drive traffic to their clickbank product, I will review the product, and if I think it is suitable then I will sponsor it on my site. Obviously my payback will be the commission from any sale. I will review the product then decide if it is suitable, there will be a low admin fee of $30 to begin with. Because the site is new the fee will be refunded after 30 days if no sale is gained from my traffic. Worth a thought if you require exposure. pm with your product details, your email address linked to the product, and I will be in touch.
Wait. Wait. You want to charge someone 30 bucks to list a product on your site that will, at the time of launch, have zero traffic? Please clarify.
That is why there is a money back guarantee after one month with no sales, otherwise everyone would send me their links.
Paying people to click will result in NO sales. InetGlobal is being investigated by the Secret Service and FBI for this type of activity. Whenever someone starts sending me PTC traffic, I immediately have their CB hoplink disconnected. I would rather pay you to NOT send PTC traffic to me.
I agree, a lot of affiliates are just sticking banners on their unrelated blogs and PTC traffic is even less useful
What are you actually doing? I'm by no means an expert, but I make regular sales from a range of Clickbank products including my own, so might be able to point you in the right track.
Hey GrantDraper, To be honest with you, I think the best way to recruit affiliates is to do all the above. Have a great affiliate page (which you already have), use the forums, submit to affiliate directories, show conversions, find affilaites who are promoting similar products, and so on and so on. I don't think there is a specific method that is going to get you where you want to go, but the vendor who has every single angle covered, is the one who is going to grow the most. All of the little pieces come together to create a bigger picture, and this will raise you in the marketplace, which will recruit more affiliates and so on and so forth. Probably not an answer you were looking for, but its just my opinion and I just typed what I thought when I read your thread. Good luck! - Rick
1. have really good products 2. have really good commission rates 3. have really good support for affiliate (support team, promotion materials) 4. have really good product/customer support (a lot of affiliates stop promoting when they get lots of complaints from customers who bought through their links. Super affiliates have their own lists and they promote to their list) 5. get your products listed on an affiliate network such as cj, linkshare, clickbank, etc.
