What is your blogs subject? Amazon is notoriously low paying, have you tried Adsense or any other PPC programs?
well, blog is about money advice and business but Ad sense is out of the question because my language is not supported (Croatian) And 5.000 unique visitors is on monthly bases - I have around 12.000 hits per month
Would it be worth you having an English translated version, either automated or manual? I'd expct financial advice to be quite high paying via PPC networks.
hmmm. I have focused on local users because here in Croatia people don't know much about money, investing, taxes etc. Capitalism is still new to us. I am not sure how much this advices would be interesting to someone from USA or UK (invest in mutual funds and few years before retiring move money to bond fund?) My only advantage is that I write funny and interesting about the subject and I am able to explain some "complicated" things to ordinary people.
Wouldn't there be some local businesses who would like to advertise in your site, given the amount of traffic it generates??? Assuming that you have a decent PR too, $$ from link sales shouldn't be too difficult either, given that there are some people who give more emphasis to PR than traffic. The third point you have mentioned is a great plus point for you though.
gr8liverpoolfan, thats great idea! Do you have any experience in this? I mean, should I just send an e-mail to local companies asking for ads on my blog? Or to just put some blank spaces on blog and write: "this can be your ad?" btw. how much should I charge? here is the link: novac.blog.hr (novac=money in Croatian)
@monkeywatch, I haven't done something exactly like that till now Your blog is a PR 4 , and if it does have 5k visitors a day, there should be many takers for ads. If you do have a local companies database, I see no harm emailing them about the availibility as long as you do it professionally with stats et al. The blank space with " click here to have your ad " directing the visitor to emailing you or something like that won't be bad either. As for the cost, you have to think of something which isn't too high for the businesses and not too low for you. I do not know about market trends in Croatia, and so I cannot comment on it....
How good is your english? You could write two versions, one for locals and one for the world. If you want to get adsense then you have to write in a supported language, but I suggest that you find advertiser in local banks and such... p.l.u.r. p.s. Pm me if you want to hear my ideas in Croatian p.p.s. Sretno stari
Many people from western countries looking for investment in other countries including croatia. It would be a new idea if you translate your site to english with focus on investing in Croatia.
most of the high paying affiliate networks/ppc donot accept non-english traffic . So its the only alternative left . Check out some big sites of your country and see how much they are charging . give some discount and contact advertisors of your country .
hmm, if english is not that well used in your country. you can sell ebooks using your own language. ebooks on how to make money on the internet and so on. that's my 2 cents. but there are tons of ideas to make money out of your website.
