My brother is eBay'ing his 15-year old Seattle SuperSonics Shaving bag - his fiancee thinks he is nuts to sell it and nobody will buy. Probably true - even with the 1 cent minumum bid, no reserve, and free shipping. However, I'd love to get that hit counter up there showing a lot of ("cough, cough") interest in this fine collectible item (more "cough, cough") ... so if you have a minute, check it out, add to your eBay watch list, spread the word, etc.
I told him that he had to include free shipping ... but I think burning it would certainly be an option! ;-) P.S. Thanks for stepping up to the plate with that monster one penny bid. I'm more interested in getting the hit counter *WAY* up there, but without bumping the price.
Having seen this thing first-hand, I can attest it is the real thing ... complete with toothpaste stains. Plus another brother used to work for the Seattle SuperSonics organization, so that's where it was obtained. But hey, send him eBay feedback and ask those questions along with "what kind of toothpaste stained it?!?" ;-)
Yea, this is almost a bummer - wish people had just bid a few pennies more than the previous bid - $2 is too much! I mostly just want the hit counter to climb.
Well it's not as bad as bidding on a cheese sandwhich with virgin mary's profile on it. If i was a fan of supersonics and didnt mind sweat and toothpaste i would buy it just to add to my collection.
omfg! I've been deprived of the internet for too long - I almost bid on the bag just to see it burn (good idea yfs1).
Give it some time...Every time I bid someone else outbid me like 15 minutes later...Its got 9 days left so I may snipe it. I still say the way to get page views is by getting exposure and you will get exposure as the price goes up. Maybe your brother will get creative and list things you can request if you win. 1.) Burn it and provide digital shots 2.) Have the Hulk hold a parade in honour of it (Its still warm enough to have the top down) ala the Rod from The Simpsons (d'oh) 3.) Write the winning companies name on it and put it in the Watching Paint Dry webcam shot for a week Donate the money to Celiac (sp?) charity and the DP bidding alone will get it tons of exposure and then pageviews
It's is in very, very used condition - major stretch to call it a collectable ... and the "burn it because it's a biohazard" idea has some merit. I can only imagine what his fiancee is going to say when he points out to her that it has 8 bids and almost 400 views - LOL! ;-) P.S. Some good ideas there yfs1 - I might propose those to him.
