I submitted 11 ezines and was pleasantly suprised tht ezine approved them in less than 2 days. At what pont should I start to promote the articles? I'm under the impression that I should wait until at least one articles appears on google, or should I start promoting these articles even if there not showing up while searching on google. I thought that one or two articles would appear on goog after 2-3 days, but as of now , they are nowhere to be found (first 20 pages). As I stated in the first paragraph, should I promote all 11 articles now, or do I wait until one shows up, and then start to push that one to first page Google using bookmarking, blog commenting, etc...
I was the same, had e zine accept and approve my articles within 2-3 days, it takes about a week for you articles to be consumed by googles mass network. Hit your articles a couple of times and practice the link, save the links to your desktops and hit them a couple of times throughout the day. Then start searching in googles window for your e zine article title, It will soon turn up. You will also find that e zine approve articles then a small print suggests that i may take up to 72 hours are more for the articles to become viral in their database. Patience will pay, but to get them approved so quickly is a nice skillset to have, many people pay writers for guaranteed e zine submission so you have something there my friend. Share this with me, when you mean promoting your articles, what do you mean by this, i am simply leaving my articles on their own with e zine. Regards James
It is next to useless if you just wait your articles appear on Google search results. Usually, the articles that have been post on article directory sites can't gain a good ranking and if you want to gain big traffic from these article directory sites, you'd better promote your ezines with various methods, such as blog commenting, social media marketing, etc.
duia, I'm not sure what you mean by "it is next to useless". Are you saying that I shouln't wait, and just start promoting your my "ghost" articles anyway? Ghost meaning although they are in G's database, they are not showing up on the first 20 pages. James what do you mean by "hit your articles and practice the link"? I was under the impression that If I "hit my articles", that I will artificially inflate their SERP's, but the moment I clear my cookies and search history wont they come tumbling back down? Can anyone add to this?
Its not to inflate rankings, it's just to keep the link active, be patient they'll be in google soon enough. E zine is crawled around 30 minutes. Can someone please share with us reasons and ways to promote our articles once in e zine, i thought it was up to e zine to promote them, thats the deal for our entry surely not. James
TS, check Yahoo and Bing for your articles appearance - they normally index first these services. To enforce Google - put some temporary links to the article's urls from your other websites.
George what will putting temporary links achieve, and what is a temporary link? I'm trying to understanding the logic behind this; I searched Bing and Yahoo for the presence of my articles without any luck. How long does it take for your articles to appear in G's searches? Could it be that the competition is difficult to penetrate? Google's keyword tool is showing [keywords] 5400 local searches and 105000 "competitors". I have started to promote one of the articles, 1 out of 11 that is. I've linked back to the article using three article directories ( articlebase, articlebiz, and amazines ), and I've commented on 4 blogs that are keyword related. We'll see how it goes, I have the rest of the game to watch the NBA playoffs, so Ill submit to more directories in the middle of Lebron's monster DUNKS!
I find lately that Google aren't so great at picking up links from ezine articles. eg. I have articles there approved since February that still aren't showing up in the links:domain name results. Anyone else having this problem?
thanks for that. would you recommend to use the full URL, or will the Bit.ly versions do? - what I mean is, does is make a difference to have the real (and long) URL as the link or is the shortened version just as effective in the long term?
Temporary link from your another good website allows google to find the ezin article and index it much faster. Once indexed, you can remove this link or leave it forever. Note that without such a "help", there is a high chance that Google will not index your ezin article at all. There are so many of them so the competition is high.
Oh, I understand the logic behind the temp link, Thanks GeorgeKupiers. I wonder if those temp links need to be niche related and do they need to have high PR. I was thinking about getting a temp link from ehow.
Notmynic, the best is high PR, the same niche, of course. But its hard to get such thing just for temp link. I would prefer PR vs. niche, then.
James, is article writing just about writing something for writing sake or writing it for a specific purpose. From the point of view of your post, i will believe that it is for the purpose of promoting your website links. If this is the case then you may be missing a point. The question is: Is You Article Rich In Niche Keywords? If not, then sorry! You may try as much as you can promoting it, but may not hit the first page of google. Now, here is an example, i wrote an article in ezine sometime ago and see what it has become because i did well with the keywords. Go to Google and type Free Web Traffic Tactics, my article comes second titled: Announcing Top 3 Totally Free Web Traffic Tactics of All Time! out of 727,000 results. Do you see what i mean?
What promotional methods do you have in mind? I think you can ping the articles, submit to social bookmarking to get backlinks to those articles. In that case, the articles will have higher ranking.
make sure to speed up the backlinking process. Social bookmark, convert the article into video with powerpoint (2010 can save it directly as video, you only need to add transitions), so in other words build links with web2.0 and leverage your content
