Hi All, Thanks for clicking my thread. I got into the business of affiliates with Amazon, and decided on a blu-ray store that has it all. Would you buy from my website? If not, how come? www.blurayreef.com Suggestions/Compliments/Criticism greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.
love the name, really good. fish in the logo look great you might want to look in to wp-cache will work wonders for you
Nice domain and nice site, I like what you have done with the banner, it matches the theme of the site. However there is a lot of blank space under the list of blu ray's, you may want to get rid of that, you can do that by narrowing down the size of the ad on the right sidebar.
Thank you! I will look into the wp-cache ASAP and implement it. I finally got around to finalizing the design, it was a tough task! Hey kittyluver thanks for your kind words. Would you suggest any improvements for us? Hi SnipzZz, could you elaborate a bit more? The way I did this in my aStore was to select the DVDs category, and then filter them out with the keyword [blu-ray]. Otherwise I would have to add hundreds of blu-rays each individually, which was not something that would be efficient for our site. Currently, the Amazon aStore does not have a category for just blu-rays, which is a bummer. Thanks alot! I hope we can server your needs for blu-rays in the future! Thanks for your honesty. I appreciate it alot. Now this is a problem that is bugging me as well. If you are familiar with the Amazon aStore, you know that the default height of the iFrame is 4000px. Now, I can reduce this to 1000px, to shorten the page, but then when someone clicks on a blu-ray or item in my store, everything past 1000px gets cut off. Unfortunately, the aStore does not automatically expand back to 4000px, so I have no choice but to leave it at that. If someone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again guys, we are gaining some traffic slowly but surely, however they are not converting too well
Love the design, have you thought about adding more tabs where it says feedback? It looks underdeveloped with just one tab sticking out.
Hi justin.helloall, Thanks for taking a look at the site. Actually, that single tab is a feedback tab plugin from uservoice dot com, its a service that helps us get feedback from viewers such as yourself about our site. We have no plans on placing any additional tabs on the left side, but thanks for noticing that!
1 week so far and got 120 backlinks now, but have yet to convert any of those. Any advice guys? Is the layout simple? Should the blog be on the home page instead? Thanks!
First of all, the header is brilliant...I surely would buy from here My only suggestion is that you can put an extremely faded background to your div's...For example, at the search box, i think it will look much better with a very light blue in the background But it is only my opinion I hope it helps...Good luck with BluRayReef.com
Hello jim.chamb, Thanks for the kind words! We spent many days and hours finalizing this design; getting the aStore to fit in the Wordpress was a big pain! But we got it to work. I will take your suggestion about the search box and see what I can do. Thanks again, I hope more poeple like you enjoy our site! Haha, don't we all wish we would download for free! But then hard working movie producers and actors would not make money, so here is to the great movie industry! Thanks for your compliment, this is what keeps us going! Is there any specific things that stood out to you the most? Hi Plaieu, I completely agree, the site length is too long. Unfortunately, as stated above, this is a limitation with the Amazon aStore being implemented with an iframe. The iframe default length is 4000px, and I can not reduce this, otherwise anytime you click on a product, the bottom portion always gets cut off. Anyone have any recommendations for me? Thanks all for the suggestions/comments!
Hi Seafire, Thanks for noticing. Actually, I requested twice in this thread if someone had any recommendations to try and get rid of that white space on the bottom. It's an Amazon aStore limitation. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
Still working on the large whitespace. I was thinking of a new banner, but not sure what new one to design. Thanks for the comments so far!
