I would like to know if anyone has reported a registrar to ICANN. There are many people on this forum that have been scammed by Instant-Deploy and want their domains back. I've been having trouble working out which page I meant to submit the complaint to? I'm sure there are many people would also want to know the same answer. Thank you.
A reseller, who has now just stolen over 10,000 domains and selling them on SEDO. Contacting the registrar tells me to file a report to ICANN....
I am really wondering why we don't have a clear-cut policy on matters like this. I mean, matters like these are serious. Anybody can't just pretend to be a good reseller of domains then run away from it, right? There should be a black and white way of resolving cases like this. On the other hand, I am wondering why there is no SEAL OF GOOD HOUSEKEEPING for domain sellers or resellers. They should have been certified to avoid scam. Or at least there should be an official listing all the certified NO-SCAM domain registrars, sellers and resellers.
Yes, I totally agree with you. It seems that Instant-Deploy registered their company using fake details so that we cannot trace them down. In the Internic complaint form, do I submit it as a domain name dispute?
The people who registered domain names at Instant-Deploy should be ashamed if them selves. The website looks like it's been designed my a 15 years old kid.. i mean look at it. Are you blind? LOL... he's trying hard to be like godaddy. This guy failed web design 101
I submitted a complaint over a week ago and never heard anything back, and they just forward all your complaints to the real registrar they dont look at them themselves.
Judging by whois lookups on a few domains registered through them, they seem to resell for Key-Systems/DomainDiscount24. Their own domain is registered through Name.com, though.
Yeah, but mine are registered through 1&1. After submitting my complaints to ICANN, 1&1 told me to file a UDRP but it was way too confusing for me to do so. That's why I wanted to see if anyone on this forum has done so and could possibly help me.
AFAIK neither 1and1 or domaindiscount24 have a reseller program. If this is the case then ICANN & the registrar cannot help as Instant-Deploy is taking your money and registering the domains in a separate transaction. It would be like giving money to a guy in a bar to register names for you. I thought that ICANN had a proposal that resellers must show the name of the parent registrar - but that won't stop people going for a below cost deal that's too good to be true.
DomainDiscount24 has RRPProxy, but you're right, I've never heard of anyone reselling domains for 1&1 before. Here is ICANN's page about UDRPs. You will probably need to get a lawyer involved. You could also try speaking with someone higher up at 1&1, because any decent registrar should try to help you with something like this themselves rather than sending you to ICANN.
