    Review:

It was a pleasure reading an e-book written with no grammatical or spelling errors. This book is 44 pages long and is well organized.

I have to say I was really impressed. The book does an excellent job of introducing a novice to the world of financial investments. The basics are defined and then further explained with excellent examples and charts and graphs.

Could all of this information be found for free? As with just about anything else, of course. Most investment sites and fund companies have this information available for their investors. But in my experience, that information is written as though the reader already had some basic knowledge of investments.

This guide assumes the reader knows nothing about stocks (including what a stock actually is) and is excellent for the beginner….such as a new employee faced with their first retirement fund opportunity.

I took a quick look and skim the book (but will finish it over the weekend).

So far, I can say the graphics/visual is really good! It's apparent you put some effort to think through your material and provide the basics of stocks and investment for lay people.

The thing is, most financial (stocks, forex, real estate), Internet Marketing and money-making products all have some type of persuasion, have to be practical, and results driven . People purchasing those products want to make more money. They want to earn extra money and/or get rich in the process.

Your product will not any competition alright, but that's because it's more of a educational guide. It's like offering a new "The History of how Real Estate got started" guide. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not comparable to something like a "The Zero-down foreclosure guide to bank the reccession!" The former is educational and for information, but the latter is persuasive and intended to be result-driven.

Will it be profitable? It depends. Your audience are most likely not people who are already into stocks, or those who want to make money, but for those looking for information to learn what the stock market is about and easy to understand investment guide. In that case, it's may be hard because those audience are not really "buyers" but just searching for info. on the web.

    Thanks for the feedback.

You are exactly correct when you say it's more of an educational guide - that's exactly what I was going for. I also realize this wont be as simple to promote, because the market isn't as easily defined (like people searching for "trade penny stocks" on Google). That being said, it's a huge market. Most adult Americans really don't understand the basic principles of the stock market - if you can find a way to reach out to those people, I am completely confident that sales will result.

@dlm: Did you write the sales copy yourself? I really enjoyed the honest approach, I think it's quite refreshing and it will likely do well with intelligent consumers who are tired of getting bullshitted around all the time.

    Examples:

"Originally, I was planning to sell Stock Market Sherpa for $59" as opposed to "Buy now for $39, or this price tag will double in 12 hours and triple in 24 hours".

"It isn't guaranteed to make you rich immediately, but it will make you a more informed and successful investor", as opposed to "millions of happy customers have retired to the Caribbean before finishing their college education, all because of this product."

I really hope this product does well! I will be quite happy if your sales angle delivers good results, because I happen to share a similar stance on Internet Marketing.

Oh by the way, I do agree with Terryd in that the cover is somewhat off-putting. I think it's a smart move to use a plain looking cover, but I'm not sure about the gray color. I'd use the same kind of green that traders are used to seeing in stock charts associated with positive movements.

    Best of luck,
    P.

Reminds me of Dr. Forex's approach (no hype or BS). Good luck.

What you could do with this product is - after they buy your ebook, put them in an email list...after a month, do a follow up with...

"How is it going? I hope you learn the basics of the stock market..

Now, if you want to take it to the next level, I found a good trading product at [YOUR AFFILIATE LINK]...which can help earn money. With a solid foundation in the stock market, you are already ahead..." and so on...

In your follow up, pitch them a stock product to make money.

    Well, just my opinion...

How can you say there is not competition?

I can tell this is your first product you must not of done any research on stock market. There is a ton of competition!

I would never buy this "guide" it is really easy to trade stocks and most company's supply a guide just for using there service because they want you to trade more.

It looks good overall, but if I can suggest a few things...

    - Some people have mentioned about the design. I am in favor as well to change it up a bit. To me it looks like a 2003 design. I don't mean to go all flashy, but just updated.

    - My eye doesn't catch anything when first looking at it, no big headline to get me sucked in. Yes, I don't mean something that isn't true, but something that will get me to continue reading.

    - The blocks of text seems to big. Make smaller paragraphs and add more colors/headlines.

    - If you have any testimonials, add them.

    Hope that helps a bit,
    Joel

Thanks Joel - I'm not actively promoting this site at the moment. Got big plans for it in a couple months though.

SeoWinner just decided to bump this topic with his stupid (and completely ignorant) comments because he is mad I posted in his thread.
