Can a website be penalized for this..

u have 2 website on first page of google for example "credit card".

When u go the website, on the bottom both website has been optimized by the same company..
Can that hurt the website ranking.

If both have been penalized?

 

I do not see logic for both sites to being penalized just because they have been optimized by the same company. The most possible reasons to get penalized are

1. Both website has 100% exact similar content between each other.
2. Both website hosted under same IP class and do cross linking without cautions.

 

There's no drawback to this at all. Congrats to having 2 on front page!!!

 

I don't think so, if you mean the two credit card sites. However, if they have been penalised, and your optimisation site is linked to from them , then maybe. But I'm not certain.

 

If they are very similar in SEO, then Yes
