This evening I keep being signed out every 30 mins or so even if I have the remember me option clicked, this has never happened to me before?
This is impossible, I can only get on this forum using an ip hider and I cant create new threads without tremendous difficulty. I cant send PM's either. What is wrong with this forum?? It never used to be like this with the old version.
I can access all vbulletin forums apart from this one. I was able to log on fine until you made the upgrade. Nothing to do with my ISP. Its taken me almost an hour to even post this. This forum is now completely unusuable. Delete my account. Thank you.
Not sure... whatever it is seems to be specific to you though. I definitely would contact your ISP if you want to find out what's going on.
Works okay for me in Canterbury and Maidstone, whose your ISP? I have sky *sigh endless speed limits* but everything works okay.
I'm fairly certain vBulletin 4 does not have secret code in it to somehow block certain UK users. I suspect there is something in common with those users (first being in the UK, but secondly... I would almost bet money they are using the same ISP). The UK is still the #2 country for visitors for us (US is obviously #1) and the % of UK traffic is steady (no dips or spikes). So whatever it is does not appear to be something that is widespread. What *exactly* do you see when you try to login? Have you tried running a trace route from your computer?
On a good day everything works normally and I see the homepage when I log on, this is without having to resort to using an ip hider website. However when I try and click on any board within the forum nothing happens so thats a s far as I can get. So I give up waiting and use iphider.org or hidemyass.com and I can access it instantly although not every time. Its hit and miss even with that which is why it can take along time just to post anything. Ive tried running a trace but as soon as I try that the screen disappears after about 15 seconds. Up until the upgrade I never had any problems like this.
Probably want to look for a better traceroute program if it's not letting you actually see anything with a disappearing window. At least then, you can see where the holdup is on your TCP route.
It looks relatively normal for an overseas connection... no huge spike or anything. The part where it turns from green to orange is probably the point where the connection crosses the Atlantic Ocean. At it's destination (farthest point) you are looking at ~150ms ping time which equates to a 0.15 second lag (time it takes for the connection to travel around the globe and back), which would be pretty normal for a US <-> UK connection. I ran a reverse trace from one of our servers to your IP and it looks pretty normal and the same as what you got... traceroute to 84.13.64.1 (84.13.64.1), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets 1 192.168.2.5 0.040 ms 0.311 ms 0.039 ms 2 digitalpoint-gw.colo.nethere.net (216.9.35.49) 6.847 ms 7.015 ms 4.666 ms 3 fa0-0.sndg-br-1.nethere.net (66.63.128.39) 0.812 ms 0.339 ms 0.634 ms 4 207-67-92-125.static.twtelecom.net (207.67.92.125) 5.458 ms 5.437 ms 2.780 ms 5 66.192.253.170 3.952 ms 4.548 ms 4.100 ms 6 xe-11-3-0.lon20.ip4.tinet.net (89.149.184.249) 151.531 ms xe-1-2-0.lon20.ip4.tinet.net (89.149.185.138) 160.956 ms xe-11-0-0.lon20.ip4.tinet.net (89.149.185.142) 156.878 ms 7 opal-gw.ip4.tinet.net (77.67.64.14) 159.776 ms 158.016 ms 158.238 ms 8 xe-9-3-0-rt001.sov.as13285.net (78.144.1.133) 158.047 ms 148.937 ms 148.675 ms 9 xe-11-1-0-rt001.man.as13285.net (62.24.240.15) 156.549 ms 156.038 ms 156.406 ms 10 xe-11-2-0-bragg001.man.as13285.net (78.151.225.6) 158.254 ms 157.948 ms 157.253 ms 11 * * * 12 * * * 13 host-84-13-64-1.opaltelecom.net (84.13.64.1) 168.951 ms 168.575 ms 169.998 ms Code (markup): The only big jump in latency numbers is when it goes from Colorado (66.192.253.170) to Germany (89.149.184.249), which would be expected as it crosses the ocean. You definitely should not take completely different routes (as seen above) when you are trying to connect to two IPs on the same subnet. I don't know if Opal Telecom is your ISP (never heard of them) or just a peer with your ISP, but they appear to be the issue.
