Upgrade & move to new computer

We haven't upgraded Opti in ages - currently running v3.06 (I know, I know). We just have FM Pro client running on 3 machines, all WIN98, with one acting as host and need to move the database to a new host computer. FM version is 5.5v2.

What would be the best way to upgrade Opti and move the database to a different computer? Upgrade on the existing host computer and then move everything to the new machine - or - could a new version of Opti be downloaded to the new machine & the database imported?

What steps do we need to watch for in upgrading & do we also need to upgrade FM?

    Thanks,
    Marian McCurdy
