I have a prob when importing camtasia videos of high quality, into windows movie maker. As soon as I drag the video down to the story board in windows movie maker, the quality is lost. I've also produced the video to see whether or not the quality loss is only in the story board, but the video produced also have quality that sucks. How are you guys editing camtasia videos in windows movie maker, without losing the quality. Any suggestions?
My suggestion: Don't use windows movie maker. It's only good for very simple, crappy videos. (i.e. Adding titles to videos for YouTube) Adobe Premiere is the best software out there for video editing. You won't have any loss of quality when using Camtasia videos. What format are they? .avi?
I know I know... but I only have one video that needs editing and I only need two functions for editing... splitting the video into parts and slowing down / speeding the video ... I've tried to fetch these two in camtasia studio editing tools but the first doesn't split at the timeline I want and the second doesn't allow previewing the new video speed unless after I publish the video. With new softwares I'll need to go through the lurning curve and frankly, I need my video very soon. The only tool with basic editing functions that are very user-friendly, is windows movie maker. My video format produced by camtasia is: WMV Resolution: 1024x708
I'd like to recommend AVS Video Editor to you, I always use it to edit video and make funny video for uploading to Youtube, it's easy to use and the quality is awesome, you can crop, cut, join, edit video with it easily. It also embeds many special effects, you can even add text to video or add background music, that's pretty cool. It worth a try http://www.avs-video-editor.org/ Hope it helps.
