Google will not index my pages that have clickbank hoplinks in them Anyone else noticing this? How are you getting around it if so?
I dont know but can I just ask how come whenever I go on your site to talk to people I just get guys jacking off?
Yes, or i think that you can make another page and cloak it that way with the code CB give you. Should help this.
Ok cloak.. but the question still remains. Why is a hop link causing google to not index the page? That makes no sense to me. I'd estimate hundreds of thousands of pages on the internet are indexed with hop links on them. google has bigger things to worry about than unindexing pages with hop links.
I am not saying that they are "unindexing" them. They are just....lazy......about indexing them in the first place. (The links I am referring too are not the ones in the signature). They actually do appear to be getting indexed now, but I guess google just doesnt jump right on the band wagon since it could be since as "potentially spammy" until it realizes the depth of the site and thinks twice. Not sure, just thinking outside the box here
Nearly all my blog posts have clickbank hoplinks, and most of the traffic come from search engine. I think I have nofollow tag on every hoplink, that's why google still index the blog post. You can try to ping the post, use social bookmarking and other methods to get backlinks.
I faced the same problem with you around 6 moth ago, so I took them out and never use clickbank hoplink again till now... but, sorry I don't know also about the reason... I hope somebody could help us to give any explanations here.....
SE's seem to be ignoring affiliates. it does not matter if they are cloaked/no follow...I have them, along with tons of other stuff...other stuff is getting spidered, indexed, etc with the exception of cloaked affiliate links...which do not seem to work ...people rarely click on them anyway...
Yikes, I never knew about the G not liking CB hoplinks! I'm currently using a WordPress widget to automate those... maybe I could tinker it to be nofollow.
It does not matter what you set your links too...think of it this way..how many affiliate links do you actually run into when searching on google? I bet hardly any...why? simple, google weeds them out... am I wrong?
I thought G would be smart enough to follow cloaked links as well? Anyways, I suppose there's no way to cloak CB links that are generated via the HopAd builder, I've tried. Curious, though -- all of mine including the tags and categories pages are indexed by Google perfectly. Do you think you get de-indexed only once you use AdSense in your site?
