Thanks everyone for taking part in this thread
I wrote win.ms (Windows - Microsoft) where I should have written: can I use win.ms for a Microsoft Windows related website?

I don't know much about trademark infringements but I never thought that using a second level country tld domain will be a trademark issue, even if I use it for a windows related website !! I mean win is not Win32(R) and is not Windows (R)

Anyways, as I said in the first line, my idea was to build a questions and answers website (similar to yahoo answers) about Microsoft software (windows, office) and windows based software (anti-virus, browsers,...). Of course making it clear that the website is owned by me and is not connected to Microsoft(TM)

You should go read their policy: http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/en/us/IntellectualProperty/Trademarks/Usage/OEM.aspx

It says: Do Not Shorten, Abbreviate, or Create Acronyms for Microsoft Trademarks
