Hey guys, A site I am currently in charge of has 30,000+ uniques and is a PR 6. It is powered by drupal & has onpage SEO and other basic SEO features. Since the site is already established, a lot of SEO measures are pointless.. anyone have any input on somethings i should try with it?
It's really hard to say without know... seeing your website. I work with two large websites, one with 200,000 pages and the other with 1.5 M pages. Building links to the internal pages does wonders and we can usually get internal pages to rank fairly easy. It will really depend on your budget but if it's decent I would take the top 100 pages and build links to them.
i don't own it, i just am involved with it. it is a company that networks the plastics industry site was created in '96 originally, company has been around longer site was most recently redesigned and is powered by drupal
With a site that size,it might do you good to make sure you're not leaking dofollow enabled outbound links. I noticed on one of my smaller sites that I was leaking at least 3 dofollow links per page. After I made them nofollow them my PR went from 2-3 really fast.
Have you done your keyword research? What do you want to rank for? You need to do in depth keyword research and figure out (with your bosses) what keyphrases to go for ... and most importantly, which ones you don't want to lose rankings for .... then start optimising pages or creating page for the new phrases. Remember, no matter how much traffic you're getting - unless you're top of page 1 for every phrase, there's always more on the table. If you'd like completing your KW research, let me know via PM.
