Helvetti I am not sure what your intentions really are, by bringing up some of the most sensitive matters into discussion, I am not sure if you are doing this to increase your post count or you are really into the politics and religious issues as such

back on the topic, I had no clue how the past was, I wasn't around to confirm the authenticity of the info, I feel the age will only increase the science, better understanding and technology for any aspect, it could be any matter let it be religions or any other, unless we are under a WW again

I didn't create the image, I found it while surfing and thought it would be worthy of a discussion. I wanted to discuss your signature too but you'll again acuse me of going offtopic, padding post count etc if I do so.

I wasn't referring to this discussion, I was referring to your topics in general, most of them have been very sensitive issues, there are only 2 people who take up such topics, 1. who is really a political freak, 2. who wants to increase their post count

as far as my sig goes, I put up which is comfortable for me and which explains me in simple terms.

I'm an atheist and I like to discuss religions. Deal with it.

@EveryoneElse: It's interesting that the dark ages occured exactly between the rise and fall of Muslim Expansionists.

The picture is for amusement purposes only ;)
How do one measure the "scientific advancement" depicted on the vertical axis?
Besides you see a drop in the scientific advancement which is not true: during the Christian dark ages it were the Muslims who made a lot of progress.

then stop referring to things that are none of your business

Yeah the image is not accurate but it is symbolic, obviously scientific advancements would stop when you murder people for saying the earth is round and revolves around the sun, or spend manpower and brainpower in burning witches and hunting vampires with ginger and a cross lol :p

The graff might explain how between 400 and 500 science went backwards, then flatlined for 1,000 years? - Presumably for Europe? Not to be picky but anyone even with a blindfold can draw a graff....and maybe did.

You all take things way to seriously... He did not make that it is from a site, I can't remember the site though. They have a lot of things like that (not all religious) like this one. I don't agree with the message but it is funny.

"Yeah the image is not accurate but it is symbolic" - then the topic is not worthy of discussion as you wrote that the image is not accurate.
Mind you, a lot of stuff on this forum is not that accurate :) - anyone want to buy my berry diet ebook site, makes $500 a day, I only want $100 for it. ROFL

The problem is most Christians being mindless followers of whatever their pastor says. Of course, a lot of the Bible is mistranslated and the Bible in itself was not mentioned in the bible (duh)
A pagan Emperor put it together and people accept it as being God's word all together which I believe is bogus.
Ghandi once said "I would have been a Christian if it wasn't for Christians" and I do agree with what he was implying 100 percent.

The question is was Jesus the Son of God and that I do believe in.

But the majority of what churches spew is nonsense or doctrine not based on the scripture.

So yes, of course with all the infiltration, guilt tripping and mindgames almost everyone who wants to follow Jesus has been exposed to, no wonder the level of confusion and ignorance holds many back. same as people getting offended with this thread. I disagree completely with using it to discredit Yeshua, but it indicates a dumbing down which has occurred ever since rulers have figured out the power of altering, manipulating and mistranslating scripture for their own agendas.

    No, it's not.

Unless you think that justifying religious discrimination is worthy of discussion? Do you think the Nazi's theory of the justification of the systematic cruelty and killing off of the Jewish population is worthy of discussion?

I think that your bias towards posting bigoted lies is worthy of discussion.

No, but I think you are acting like one.

So how the church murdered Galileo is not worthy of a discussion and is a bigoted lie? LMAO! :D

Another lie. The Church did not murder Galileo. Galileo died peacefully in his own bed, surrounded by friends and family.

Second, like a hypocrite, you are attempting to change the subject and run from your hypocrisy like panic-stricken wild game. I know a few atheists, they are live-and-let-live type of people and fun to be with. But you are just a religious bigot pretending to be an atheist, aren't you? For you, it's not about religion - you just don't like to see anyone be comforted, right? You don't see the glass as half-full, you see the glass as something to smash so people die of thirst.

All bigots are hypocrites. YOU are a hypocrite. This completely trashes any point that you make.

I'm sorry I actually meant Giordano Bruno (and others) not Galileo (though he was tortured too), but the point was clear.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giordano_Bruno

And you got me. You are not a hypocrite. You posses exactly the same values to imply. Pope didn't protect pedophiles, dark ages never happened, women and men weren't burned as witches and vampires, Giordano Bruno put himself on fire, earth is flat and static, the sun rises, sets and return to its place, a freak built a huge ship and saved everyone from a flood.
