I'm creating a WP plug-in that will scan recent posts, extract images, create thumbnails and make a summary post for you. I have a sample of it in action over at http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20060912/gadget-gallery-up-to-09-12-2006/ I'm hoping that creating a post like this will be very easy (once the script is finished) and that it will encourage RSS readers to visit the main site more (as well as the multiple internal links for SEO benefit). I'm after a bit of feedback on the idea and how it looks. If anybody would be interested in the finished plug-in please let me know (it will be free )
Thanks Darren. It's targeted at any blogs that have an image in just about every post (gadget blogs is a good example). Any other ideas or improvments?
DCT, when its ready let me know where I can download it and I'll have a play around with it - might work out good on travel blog with photographs.
If anybody is interested I have a beta version of it available now, I've not tested it with many WP versions as yet and it does need tidying some what. PM me or reply here if you fancy trying it out.
Thats a pretty nice tool, like others have said, ideal for if your flogging affiliate products or writing about them with a nice thumbnail in your blog...Will PM you but not sure when ill be able to play with it.
The concept is superb. Many blog visitors get bored of wading through text, so anything to do with pictures and previews is a good thing. As soon as there is a release, I would be very interested in trying it out. Good work!
First Version of the Thumbnail plugin is now available at http://www.softsift.com/200609/wordpress-gallery-plugin.html You can see a sample of how the thumbnail gallery look over here.
Yes, the thumbnails are generated and saved in your normal uploads folder. The generated post then references those thumbnails.
