Hi all, Well I have recently started a website and it has done VERY well. Launched 1 month ago today and is now reaching on average about 150,000 page impressions through adsense and on average about 150 and only earning $13-$15 a day with a quite low eCPM. I thought I would be earning a bit higher than that, as the eCPM is hardly ever reaching $0.10 Is that normal for adsense? I don't know of any other companies to go with as I usually have just stuck with adsense
Well, You have Got Many Reasons For this : 1.Low Paying Keywords - May your niche will be a low paying keyword 2.Irrelavant Ad - May be your Ad will be irrelavant and showing some low paying niche ads even though your site is about a high paying niche. Get On page SEO done and solve this trouble. 3.Adplacement - PLace the ads properly that People can click it easily. No people want to scroll and Find the ads there own. so give them a proper chance to click the ads. For Your case, Get Adplacement, And Onpage SEO done and The things Would be alright
The CPC basically depends on the niche / keyword However, the eCPM is depends on both CPC and CTR. So, you shall focus on improving the CTR, your CTR is only 0.1% which is consider very low. If you can improve your CTR to 1%, then your eCPM will be around $1
How do I go about increasing CTR, just by placing ads properly and in better locations as well as maybe a little SEO??
Its all about your AdSense niche and your keywords. You might not have optimized your content well with high value keywords and Google might just be delivering the lowest quality ads to your site. You need to do a little keyword research to bolster up your content. I think $0.10 is a little low. Your CPCs should be about $0.40-$0.60 which is about average. Do some research into your theme and find out if it has a few high paying AdSense keywords (most themes do...) Anyway good luck, hope your Adsense earnings take a turn for the better soon.
Its just a blog site posting images and videos so content is very random depending on what is posted. Would that be a problem for optimizing the site for adsense through keywords
Yeah it depends upon your traffic nature and sources! along all your keywords strength and ads placements also matters while earning on adsense
To increase you CTR, you first need to get more targeted traffic. And then, try different size of ads an also different placement
What is your niche? If you tell us your niche is dogsitting, then those numbers are perfectly normal.
Look at the source of traffic. If you are getting 150k per month all from people clicking through a forum of computer wallpaper then it probably is to be expected. I would recommend only showing adsense to people who come from search engines (assuming you are getting decent traffic from search engines) and see if that bumps up your total revenue after a few weeks.
Well about 58% of traffic is from search engines, 21% is from twitter and facebook (via our fan page) and the rest is from direct traffic. Site doesnt have a niche really, it is a blog posting a multitude of different things from images to videos to plain text posts and riddles I guess I will just have to deal with the low earnings as I am no SEO/adsense wizard and I really can't afford to pay for it to be done to my site. Will just experiment with ad placement
http://www.bypassfanpages.com/ will get you pennies per click. Your blog there is useless when it comes to AdSense value. Better off with a CPM company.
