I have been promoting the Reverse Phone Detective since last 3 or 4 months. Usually its a very good converting product according to niche …but it has a high refund as well. I couldn’t understand why it is so ...mine is around 22 % after 150 sales … well since last 2 weeks I suddenly noticed that its refund rate increased slightly bit higher than normal so it is causing me losing more money

I know many DP member are also promoting this one ...did any one of you also facing the same situation

The answer is simple: Recently, clickbank made some changes to the order page.

might be that could be a reason but is it for testing purpose or permanent? ..if it is permanent then i am sure phone detective and other kind of products, those had already a high refund rate are going to lose $$$$$ ...and me too if i continue to promote such product

hi Danesh ...well ...last 14 days- i made total 20 sales and 11 refunded ...it is well over 50 % now ...and my sales have also decreased slightly a bit ..so far i have had refund rate around 22 %(last 2 n half month) for phone detective.I have doubt this new order page with a big logo casing more refunds and decreasing sale while it seems like a spam page

I promoted this product on adwords and got huge sales...but also got huge refunds. I lost on average $10 a day with adwords.
I was curious to as why the product got such good sales but also a lot of refunds so i sent out a mass email to all who had purchased and asked why they refunded. the answer was shocking!!

They said simply becuase they got the information they needed, then refunded as they no longer needed the service.

I think CB needs to do away with Guarantees in some of the niches. it is to easy to buy something, download it (an ebook for example) and then ask for a refund while still having the product on their computer.

I own another business and you will be shocked on how much sales DO NOT DROP if you just take away the guarantee all together. I think CB needs to try that. we are busting our balls to make sales but they make it so easy for the customer to just say "i want my money back".

No offense, but that can't be true. Buyers aren't that dishonest.

It is easy to get a refund but over 95% of the buyers don't do it if the product is legit. Of course, if you are promoting a scam such as a Forex EA, Reverse Phone, Records, Email Search, $3K a day plan or any other product like that, you are sure to get refunds.

How exactly did you get the email addresses of the buyers if you were promoting something as an affiliate?

Clickbank provides every customers email to you in the reporting tab... for being such a CB "expert" its amazing you don't know that.

My bad. Done it before as a vendor, forgot they opened it up to affiliates.

I don't really see the need (as an affiliate) to email the buyers anyway.

The main reason for the refunds w/ that product, is because it simply doesn't deliver. You can type in the phone number you want an address for, and it will claim to have it. But when you go to purchase it, the information will not be there 50% of the time. I've made a ton of money w/ reverse phone detective, but I've also tried it myself a couple of times, and have never received the info I was searching for. Which would explain it's high refund rate.

I never use the emails Clickbank provides except for this reason. I just wanted know why my refund rate was at 28%. I guess both a shitty product and the fact that returns are easy all play into this.

Oh well, on to something else, again!

    It's nothing new mate :)

You might have just ignored it.

Every purchase made through an affiliate link will display the customer's email address in your clickbank dashboard.

I do limited business with Clickbank (I don't particularly like them - far better networks are out there) and have never wanted to email any of my "customers"

    But thanks for asking

well thanks for all discussion ..whatever is the reason ..either buyers was getting dishonest because of previous changed in payment page or its a crappy product ..well ,to be honest i would consider the order page change for all spike in refunds because after returning to original order page ..now refunds back to normal ...9 sale ...0 refunds .so yes, defiantly it was the big logo which was insisting buyers to be dishonest i suppose .

Or maybe it was just a coincidence? Ever heard of statistical variance?
