Download speed still 20/kb for free users? We're almost in May, when the down speed will improve?

 

Hotfile has lower rates, their maximum rate is 15 USD per thousand downloads, with our service you can get up to 20 USD. Moreover, we calculate all completed downloads, even not unique ones, while some hosting services pay for unique downloads only. As for halving rates - that happens if most of your traffic comes from non-productive countries. Some other file hosting services can even close partners' accounts if lots of traffic comes from countries where users do not obtain accounts.

As for download speed, then it may vary depending on the country, day time and the servers load. At the moment speed value for free users reaches 80 KB/s, also we expect the final bandwidth increase next week (at the beginning of May).

No, they are not getting better and better, actualy they are still the same, every time I check it out free download speed is always between 15 kbps and 25 kbps. It's almost three months how free download speed is so low. Look:

You said speed is going to increase at the beginning of March, but it didn't. Then you said it's going to increase in the first half of April, but it didn't. Now you said it's going to increase in the first week of May. Ok, I'm patient because I really love Uploading.com and I loved working with you until all these speed problems started, I can say only the best about your service before that. It's really hard for me to leave Uploading, all my business is there. But my patience is near to its end, I'm going to wait for that first week of May to see if speed increasing is really going to happen as you say, but if don't - I really can't do anything else but to move my business elsewhere.

Uploading may have higher rates than HotFile, but that is completely useless with dowload speeds like these. I got lot of new and wanted files, but posting them to Uploading is nothing but the waste, because people won't download them with 17 kbps speed.

 

We regret to listen that you really think that we have been giving false promises ... There were increases of servers' bandwidth each time we promised that - twice in March, then in April, and the final increase should take place in May. These procedures are done by the company that manages our servers bandwidth, and we wish that could happen faster, but in this case not everything depends on us only. Actually, as a result of previous increases premium users got better speed values, and free users started experiencing better values also. Still during the high system load periods speed is not enough, however we are moving towards good values.

And explain here the real situation and we hope for your understanding.

 

Or maybe bandwidth priority is reserved for certain countries like tier 1 countries?

that's why those on other tiers will not discover significant increase in download speed?

I thought my net is playing pranks on me with this kind of speed, but it seems that the problem is not on my end

 

It might be, but I don't think so. Because downloads of my files are coming almost only from Tier 1 countries, 80% of my downloads are from USA, 5% from Canada, 5% from UK and the rest is from Germany, France and Australia. But still I can not match even 1/3 of downloads that I had before february, which indicates that even people from these countries have the same speed problems.

 

Somebody had uploading issues with them recently?

 

If it's overall speed then that's hell.......

I use a host that provide 75 KBps for free download and my users are complaining like hell, and this is 20? I'm fascinated that there's even people do downloading......... ur uploads must be very good stuffs

 

Majority of that downloads are probably coming from premium users, premium download speed is alright so premium users can download without any problems. But probably only few free users a day download my files, because nobody wants to download file at 20 kbps download speed.

Before february I had 1500 - 2000 downloads a day, last three months I can get usually about 300 - 400 downloads a day.

 

It seems that we need to say here that people download files from the service, and they are free users as well as premium ones. And we have users who download our files from all over the world. So that would be not true to say that all our customers experience low speed values.

 

Maybe, but there are different sizes of files out there, I guess that downloading smaller files is not problem for free users even with 20 kbps, but I can hardly believe that someone will download 700+ MB file with that speed. All my files are between 50 and 100 MB, so it's possible that free downloaders still downloading them, but for sure number of my free user downloads is not even close to the number of free downloads that I had before february, that is obvious. And as I said, almost 100% of my downloads are coming from USA, Canada and Western European countries, so it is obvious that free users even in those countries have speed problems. Also, I have noticed one thing: before february when I post my uploads to the place where people are downloading them from - it takes only few minutes and my files alredy getting downloads. Nowadays, sometimes I can not get downloads even for a half a hour, because people need much more time to complete download and a lot of them even give up when they see download speed.

But OK, as I said, I'm going to wait to see what's going to happen in the first week of May.

 

I've been using Uploading for more than a week now on a blog and in the last day and a half by blog stats show that 241 people have clicked my links to Uploading.com yet my stats on Uploading.com claim a little more than 20 "views."

They say they don't count views from non-supported countries but there is no way on earth that 221 of the 241 clicks from my links came from non-supported countries. More than half my readers are from the U.S. and the "supported countries" makes up 85% of my readership.

Something isn't right.

I have earned a grand total of 17 cents so far although more than 1,000 clicks have left my blog to go to uploading.

Also, I had no idea how slow the downloads were. I have been testing a 100 mb file of someone else's since reading the above comments and it has taken about 15 minutes. That is ridiculous. That is going to cost me 80 percent of my regulars who won't bother after a while.

I had forgotten Uploading.com was the one filesharing site with such ridiculous download speeds and whenever I go to any site that gives multiple options for downloads, i ALWAYS avoided Uploading.com because of that pathetic speed.

I'm glad I found all this out now before I wasted any more time with Uploading.com. It's time to find a site that is user friendly for free users like Megaupload - I get 100 mb files free from them in about 30 seconds. I just wish they paid people to upload because they are the best by a MILE.

Write to them saying that you worked so hard to make these sales and maybe they will increase your rank. Once I wrote to them about ranks and as a gift they disabled dropping my rank and /50% for my acc

 

Download speed....

I bought a premium account from Uploading.com and my download speed was about 60-70 kb/s. I've tried about 20 different files ( 20 different sizes) from 20 different websites and topics and still no change. Now I have rapidshare premium and I can download the most popular files with 1200 kb/s. Today I downloaded a 5MB file from MegaUpload with 1400 kb/s. Uploading.com s*cks I have to say.

I've heard sometimes they don't count every downloads, Just a few... I just hope I'm not correct...

 

Yes, I am afraid you are not correct. We cound downloads from the list of support countries (40 countries now) including non-unique downloads.

 

Was this site always spanish? Or did it change hands recently or somethin??

to Z3ll3R: Speed of their servers depends on their load. On peak hours speed is much lower, of course. You can try using FlashGet to get higher speed. FlashGet downloads in 3-10 parallel threads and your speed will incread 2-5 times.
