What are the major differences between web 2.0 and traditional web design ?

Is that the difference of Menus placement at the left side of the traditional websites and now in web 2.0 it is on the top middle ?

What are the features that has been added to the websites home page due to the web 2.0 ?

    Waiting for the innovative replies!

Nothing to do with menu placement. It's more about the use of AJAX to enhance the user experience. Running alongside is a new style of graphics but thats really just a coincidence.

sarahk is partly correct. Web2.0 has nothing to do with design and everything to do with communication between networked applications. Ajax can be used to implement that but it's not directly related.

Web2.0 highly preferred by the Google, to eliminate the error elements as well as enhance the attributes of the webpages.

You guys are some how true at your side ! But still waiting for a complete answer !
OK let me share you the main theme of the web 2.0
"Learning System, e Learning system, Knowledge" based websites like wiki pedia ! Discussion forums , blogs . Teacher and learners are the main roles that have been implemented via web 2.0 concept !

The objective was the idea or concept and what about the implementation that web 2.0 has given us ?

The original poster must be under the impression that web 2.0 is a design trend . That statement is totally false. Shiny glossy buttons reflections clean look is not web 2.0 style. It has been branded as this by inexperienced web designers with no knowledge what so ever.

The above comments are infact the true meaning of that term.

Exactly. Web2.0 focuses on user generated content. Design just evolved around that.

Web 2.0 is about how content is presented and how the content is generated. Design and implementation comes after to support the theme of Web 2.0

Actually a great knowledge is always comes from Suggestions , discussions, I got a valuable points from all you guys ! and sarahk you are right ,, Ajax comes in the implementation of the web 2.0.

Second the main difference is the user generated content of web 2.0 and tradition web design. And this entity changes the whole concept of designing when we talk about the user generated content.

Behind the concept of user generated content, web 2.0 has encouraged traffic to come over the web and this has encourage businesses or business owners to come and invest.

Why in this era, where people wants to come on the internet even if they are outstation and they get connected to the internet from their PDA, or smart phones.
