I am from a software development company and we have developed several software products like HR software, Payroll software, and Attendance software, that I know my target market would find very useful. What are the methods I can use to go advertise my software products to its intended customers?
Seems like we are in the same line, but our software is system recovery and media converter. Our market is worldwide. Submit articles, Promote Blogs, Bookmark, review submit all the way we usually use. You can have a try. Of course, the most important point is the high quality of our products. If it is really useful for its user, it will be taken sooner or later.
Sounds like PPC would be the best medium for this type of software. Doesn't sound like anything that would go viral. Targeted media buys would also be a good choice.
Check out the Software Industry Conference http://www.sic.org it is designed for software developers, software marketers, and internet marketers. Seems like a good starting place for you.
I would submit a "free" or trial version of the product to as many software directories as possible. Letting people try a limited version of the software is a good way to get them making the first step towards buying it. Simon
1.Make a trial version for you software. 2.Submit your software to some shareware directories and some software online store. 3.Contact some reseller to sell your software. 4.Target your exact market and find out some websites where many of your targeted buyer would go to advertise your software. 5. Do seo and user-friendly for your website.
Yes, I agree with you. By the way, you can promote your software by offering free products first ,that will bring you much more traffic. I know a good website special for this: www.giveawayoftheday.com, it is a good platform for company and customer, everyday it will give the visitors a free software to download from their website. You can have a try. I have d it once, get wonderful traffic that day.
Would it be great if the software can trace all the links from your submission instead of just relying on its report and saying "successfully uploaded" or something like that....? I just thought that in that manner the user would feel more confident if the software to be developed can extract live links.... Just a thought though.....
Have you contacted people at PC World, PC magazine, Cnet, Download.com,,,, and asked them to review your products? That is where I would start. If you can get listed on download.com, its going to open up a whole new market for you. Amazon.com - get listed on there, send out some free samples of your products to local companies and ask the testers to post reviews on amazon. Youtube - send out some free samples to youtube power bloggers in your niche and have them do reviews. Tech blogs - send a free sample to some bloggers on power house sites like yahoo.
Offer a light version for free and submit to software sharing websites with a squeeze page leading to the free download. Once you have their email, market to them and give them a chance to upgrade for a low intro fee before the price is raised
I would make a list of companies that can use the software, then approach them directly and explain how your software can help their business. Basically, old school sales...
