    Hey guys,

I have similar problem with this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1436165
I found out this morning that my content that i created my own is displayed in another "Autoblog"
    What I have done is:
    1. Tried to ban the ip address via .htacces by typing this in the very bottom:
Note: that's not the real IP.

Is there any way not to ban the IP? because i am afraid to ban all the people from the same IPs.
This is the address of the autoblog:
Thanks for any suggestions or ideas!
    :)

The only thing that you can do it disable RSS all together, but that's a little extreme for one slug. You can set your RSS feed to only allow a summary, not the whole article in:
Dashboard->Settings->Reading. You can also set it to only allow a certain number of items.

You can also add a copyright notification into your feed. There were a few plug ins for this, here is one, but I can't vouch for it, I never used it:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/copyfeed/.

Lastly if this doesn't work and you still find that the offender is posting your entire article, then it is not a case of autoblogging,it is downright content theft, and plagiarism. At that point you can report the site to it's host, and to Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

Here is an old, but good article on RSS tips and tricks you may find some useful ideas to disrupt your autoblogger. Nothing ruins an autoblog like a dirty feed...meaning one that can't be passed off as their own content...they will just move to the next source.

    Thank you hmansfield!!

I did set to "summary" in admin page, and it also shows in that site as a summary, but however i don't really like someone post my content :/

I will try the plugin now,

    Thanks!

Well Kimi, it does suck, but if you cut off the RSS because of one or 2 degenerate webmasters, you also cut it off from the rest of the world.
The best thing to do is tag your feed with copyright and identifying tags at the beginning of the feed. Autobloggers don't like using feeds that have other people's names on them right up front.

Well the good thing about autoblogs is they get the duplicate content penalties, not you. The bad thing about them is many disable any link back to your site so you don't get any credit for your content or any possible click throughs...they totally hijack your feed...that why I have such disgust for many of them.

You have nothing to worry about. Google does a good job of knowing the source of the original content and which page to rank. You will not get penalized for the duplicate content. If you want to deal with the issue, I think you are going about it the wrong way. Tell the site they don't have permission to use your content and tell them to take it down.

I have also experienced that way back before a certain blog of mine got in to the peak of Google. Almost all of my posts were in ranks. However, in my gadget for locating visitors, a certain blog address always cut in to the picture. When I visited it for curiosity, it was a BIG AUTO BLOG fishing all posts and others too. It is wise to have other feeds also combined to mine for its updated posts. What did I do?

Removing your FEEDS is not an option! I have read that AUTO BLOGS could affect your rankings but it won't really hurt if you do this tip:

After posting something, copy the LINK LOCATION of that post then edit it again. This time highlighting a certain text (perhaps, the title which is also in your post body) then make it a hyperlink.

That AUTO BLOG will publish your posts again, but it has a link to you now with an anchor text. It is like saying THANK YOU for your AUTO BLOG being my AUTOMATIC FEED publisher.

Google is referring to duplicate content on YOUR site, in other words 2 DIFFERENT pages with the same content. There are many sites that syndicate content, or article directories that have identicle articles that's also on other article directories.

That's true, just think of how many times a press release is circulated. Tons.

Fill your content with URL's the redirect to you or your affiliate program. Then when they scrape it you get the benefits of them placing affiliate links on their site on your behalf for free.

I do it all the time.

Let them work for you for free!

A different way to look at it.

I won't worry about auto blogs taking my content ....as long as they give you a link back to your post

Contact the webmaster with a C&D letter, wait x amount of time, if the content is not removed, contact their host with the C&D letter and let them sort it out for you.
