I'm not the greatest writer or marketer so when it comes to writing sales literature, I'm finding it quite hard. I'm a web developer and I want to target guesthouses and B&B's in my area with flyers. The purpose of the flyers is to demonstrate the benefits of having a website, in particular being able to take reservations online. Can anybody give me some examples of what I could write on the flyers? Thanks
Something along the lines of: (Name of store) has at least 20% more customers than you do. Why? They have one helluva website. Do you have one? I don't do this for free, so if you want more, send me an e-mail Won't cost you much. Maybe. Ok, maybe just a little.
I don't know that kind of information about which guest house has more customers. Plus I'm going to deliver the flyers to quite a lot of clients and I haven't got the time or resource to check to see if each one already has a site and the quality of their site etc. Nice try though, I like the idea.
Um, you don't have to do any of that. *sigh* The idea of it went right over your head. Stick with web developing altogether. Good luck anyway.
Very helpful. #2 choosing a Layout... I use an easy template product called Turnkey Flyers. I've tried many online services and found this one to be the easiest. Great for new or even veteran agents. Google it: Turn-Key Flyers... or I believe the site is Flyers.
Maybe the idea of this whole thread went straight over your head. I am sticking with web development, I'm not eactly going into the copywriting industry full time, I'm asking for advice with flyer design. You idiot. Oh and in your first post were advertising your services - why would I want somebody who is rude and insulting to their potential clients to help draw in clients for myself!? You are clearly not that successful at it yourself. Quite frankly, I think my 3 year old nephew would do a better job than you.
Hi u4mee, Thank you, choosing a flyer template may just be what I'm looking for so thank you for your post! However, that site only seems to do real-estate flyers. Do you know of any generic template site? Thanks, Michael
Use words like Free Consultation so owners/managers will see no gimmick and if your flier perks their interest you can at least expect a phone call or email contact to get your foot in the door and show them examples of demos you already have ready. I dont expect a flier will sell the service unless it directs the customer to a website with much more info. Too much to consider and know such as domain name, hosting, quality of work (demos), cost, etc. So make it simple describing what you will provide... free domain name for their business? free hosting for a few months? free consultation? high quality design (you can start to make an impression with the design of your flyer) Then provide all your contact info.
Thanks ceaseer, Your post is very helpful and exactly the advice I was gunning for! Very helpful Michael
Instead of doing flyers, why don't you just write them all a brief note (photocopy the original if there are too many). Be cordial and tell them what you do and why you think they would benefit from your service. Don't sell yourself, just let them know you're out there and willing to help. Whatever you do, don't mention prices, not until you've corresponded a few times with the ones who reply. You will be surprised at how many get back to you. Good luck.
hey everyone! i'm kinda new at this forum, but would gladly share my past experience working as an offline marketer. never did flyers but what i did was send personal notes to mom `n pop businesses, just a short note offering a free website. but if you're goin to send flyers, just mention how you can help them for free and upsell them once you get in the door. hope that helps....
I think your 3-year old nephew would do a better job than you at reading and understanding replies. Sorry, I never had patience for people who don't use their brain. My bad, I guess. Better stay out of doing flyers. You just don't get it. But hey, have a great day.
sorry, i was just trying to help and share my experiences that worked for me. i didn't mean to contradict you. GOD BLESS!
