I have just checked my logs and I just found two clicks going to "xxxKendraJade@c@m", which is a pornographic site. I was under the impression google does not serve porno ad's. I will mail them now and see whats with it.
How do you see the outgoing links in your logs? This is unlikely, and most probably it has nothign to do with google ads. That is ofcourse unless you are using some external javascript based tracking mechanism.
Yes, I use a tracker. Right now I am trying to find the darn page from where I can send them my complaint.
Google doesn't allow to put adsense code on adult related site, but id does serve adult ads and always did.
Well, if that is the case ill read their TOS and see. Till now I have been under the impression it does not serve adult ad's. My user base includes lots of young teens and I would not like for them to pass through to some porno site from my site. That would seriously damage my site's reputation. And idea, how to make adsense stop serving adult ad's if Google indeed permits them?
You may use competitive ad filter, but thats not a real solution. You may check what triggers the adult ads, probably you are having some adult related content out there. Using section targetting is also can be a part of the solution. You may use adsense preview tools to see all the advertisers for diffrent locations. If you are really serious about it, it may not be a bad idea to contact adsesne support.
Can you support your stance with any proof Alx? Furion I have never seen an adult ad at my site or anywhere else & I am sure that adult ads (porn) is not allowed at adwords. Perhaps you should try to contact the support to see what they have to say in this regard.
Adwords Content policy is not clear on this topic. Little excerpt: So I think in general adult-oriented ads are permitted.
Google wants to keep 100% of the adult revenue...theres a lot of money in it and Google is greedy. I should add if they did can you imagine the spamming that would go on???????? For the original poster if you are using broad match keyword terms in Adwords then your terms can generate adult ads. Say you are using the word sex protection in broad match your ads will display based in the term sex & protection so then ads would be displayed for sex toys sex videos female sex sex protection armed protection protection services Hope that helps..
@Endurer, well that beats me... @wmtips : thanks for the excerpt. That cleared a few things... @Exe: I am from India, but my site users are from USA. So it would display adult ad's to them I guess. I would not have noticed it myself, but I received a complaint from the person who visitred the aforementioned site. I have mailed adsense support regarding this... kids cant be allowed to unknowingly click porn ad's. Will keep you all posted when I get the reply.
For my niche, I can't avoid the use of words like sex, but the meaning is totally different. I will try to keep a tab on my content and lets see.. but this really isnt nice!
well I did click the link, those are search results, nothing more. I did not see the google ad bar on the right... if you did let me know.. I am from India, so I guess they cant serve me adult ad's. What about you... did u see them?>
Hi Well then limit the exposure Go with exact match using brackets around your keywords [sex education] Then your ads will display only when someone uses that as their search query.. you can also use specific match "sex education" which would display your ads only when the query terms are sex education or education sex. This is what many think is click fraud but in reality is click waste. Hope it helps Peace
@sem-advance, I think you misunderstood the original querry. It is with regards to the ad's served on my own site. I use adsense to monitize my site. The querry was I would like adsense to not display adult ad's on my site.
Here's a screenshot if you'd like to see. IMO there should be an option made available to publishers so that they may disallow or allow adult ads.. just like adbrite does.
