For the traffic or visibility. For anything else, they are stuck in 2002 SEO, and they haven't kept up with the times.

But why are people looking for high PR links and in-content links from sites that don't have good traffic but only PR?

Because they have failed to notice how drastically Google has changed in the past couple of years.

It used to work, but Google has drastically changed its method. Most webmasters don't keep up or notice. Those that notice, keep it to themselves.

You’re right they can’t but that doesn’t exempt them from being ill informed.

One small example to illustrate to you my point.
Real SEO expert will never use term “do-follow” because he knows that there is no such a thing and yet
every Bozo these days uses this term because some wannabe SEO used that term on the Internet.

Psychologists called that phenomena mass hysteria and DMOZ is one best example of that madness.

    ;)

Well thats true. Everyone will keep it to temselves. But if you wanna suggest something then i'll be thankful.
    :)

That was superb.. Liked the example. So i feel, I should not bother about DMOZ.

    But does PR matters???

I wouldn't bother with DMOZ. Waste of time and it won't do much for you.
