My site is a forum in bad need of traffic...we got lots of content, though. So, ok does Twitter help? I'm on twitter I got 40 followers, just never thought I'd get much out of it in terms of driving traffic to my site through it.

So: Does it work, if so what do you do to make it work?

 

i have 400+ followers but no traffic form twitter ,i think twitter not good for bring traffic,but good for product sale.
and another thing is
do you konw some info about your 40 followers?. if they following lots of people they have not time for your tweets

 

Not really. Just tweeted for the first time tonight and one follower dropped me by the end of the night.

My opinion is 'yes' it does give my sites some extra exposure albeit it wont be massive but it all helps in getting some extra visitors.

 

visitors, yes, but doesn't seem like anyone joins, so I'm scrapping it.

Actually I've had the account for a few months. Never really did anything...but thanks! Maybe I'll go back to it in another few weeks, if it hasn't been banned for spamming or whatnot.

 

Twitter is a very good social networking site, It lets you interact with the public while increasing brand awareness.I am having quite a good experience with it.......

 

If you want traffic then post unique on twitter and attract traffic otherwise no technique help you.

 

see to it that you have the same niche with your follower..otherwise this is worthless...

try to follow the people in twitter.

 

I do. I hit up my keywords and then follow people who turn up that used it. Nothing working yet.

 

Some people swear by twitter as a way of driving traffic but to be honest I have never had any success using it.

 

It will drive more traffic. I am getting a good amount from that, just be more social on twitter. Follow thes simple steps
1) follow relevant people
2) interact with people
3) use some hash tags while posting links
4) participate in trending topics
5) re tweet some of the good links
6) post informative links

It just doesn't seem to translate in actual people joining up on my forum, which is what I need. I think it works more for some things than for others.

Its actually really helpful if you have a lot of followers following you. I would try some help if you need it like twiends.com or others that help you gain more followers faster.

 

But having blindly lots of followers never work the right way! Therefore the need to have TrueTwit.com account that evaluates the quality of user's twitter followers on 3 fronts; Ads, porn content & bots on 3 levels; low, medium and high - based on this allows twitter user to be selective about each tweet follower.

but you got only 40

still you can try and see what happens
