Sure, there are many good places open. Central America and Asia if you work online are great to have a better life with the money you make. If you don't know people there, they will of course charge you the "Gringo-tax" but when you know someone locally, you ask them to negotiate before they get to meet you.

We know the gringo tax here in the US also. Mexican owned businesses in the US charge it.

My favorite case of this is the thrift store near me where they give Mexicans a discount (I have seen it be up to 50% off), but when I ask about the discount they suddenly don't know English.

Yes, that is a part of what got AIG into trouble. They were a wallstreet casino.

At least the Dems traditionally push forward with their major campaign promises.

Republicans campaign on certain issues that they can't possibly deliver. They get elected on promises of smaller government, less spending, ending abortion, preventing gay marriage, prayer in school, etc... etc... a lot moral issues that they know will get their base to the polls, but they don't come through with any of it. In fact, they usually don't even try to deliver once in office.

Both parties are evil, but I'll take the Dems over the Repukes until we get a legit 3rd party that is somewhere in the middle and can get things done (which I don't think any of us will ever see).

Considering the DOW dropped 213 pts by days end this bit of good news may have short legs but still a meaningful 2 year statistic.

1st quarter earnings reports have mostly been positive and with renewed consumer confidence the US economy continues to accelerate. - The bad news is the national debt crisis for Euro countries Greece and Portugal having their bonds downgraded, to junk for Greece and both with negative outlooks. The Continent as a whole may become the leading obstacle to world economic recovery.

The Democrats need only reign in the national debt, caused by the previous administrations poor / pathetic management, as they have done in the past and the Great Recession of 09 will be put to rest.....whether recognized by the right wing fanatics or not.

Michael Moore is a sharp guy. Just watched him on Larry King Live. Did you know that under the new plan you can be denied health coverage by an insurance company? The hidden penalty for not supplying you coverage is a 100 dollars a day.

So if some one needs a 100,000 dollar cancer treatment plan ,do you think the insurance company is going to cover you or take the fine, wait a year and see if you croak? They would save a lot of money by denying you coverage. Its hidden in the new health care plan where you actually have to refer to a different health care act code to find out the information.

Trust Michael Moore to find the dirt in the new health care plan. So many people think its such a good deal. What a joke. The USA citizen gets screwed over by the law makers once again. Who did you vote for in the election? You got change all right. I would not say for the better. The present government has been on a spending frenzy and the new health care plan increases the size of government once again.

What would ever happen if China called in their loan on the massive USA debt load they are carrying?

I doubt that a 3rd party will last unless it gets the right support, and the "right support" will likely come from those who have the most money to invest and not from the people who run around like chicken with their heads cut off arguing banalities.

There is no doubt it contains some dirt (maybe a lot of dirt), but it finally gives the US something to build upon. Maybe someday every American will be able to focus on their ailments and not how they are going to pay for treatment if we want to live. We are the only major country in the world where people die because they can't afford to pay for medical care.

We have been in need of healthcare reform for a long time, and it has been the Dems pushing for it for nearly two decades. Funny that the Repukes are planning "Repeal and Replace!" election campaigns. As if they have EVER had an interest in health reform. The party of Jesus that never saw a problem with people dying because they didn't have access to care.

Fact: Jesus Christ was a socialist in every sense of the word.

Michael Moore is a shill. Bought and paid for, controlled opposition. If people don't start waking up, thinking for themselves and stop looking for a spokesperson to represent their opinions for them, things will go downhill even further. A lot further.

Since when do we need media people to get behind? Have we lost our own common sense so we need to settle for some dude giving us fluff and half-truth while entertaining us? This matter is a lot more serious than that.

Jesus was not into forcing people to give to others, give one example if you really think he was a socialist.

Reminds me of something from one of Dave Barry's books.

Let's say you have a flat tire. And let's say that you are on the side of a road in Washington traveled by Democrats and Republicans.
    - A Democrat will stop to help you change your tire, but instead will set your car on fire.
    - A Republican will drive on by and expect you to fix the tire yourself.

Some say that was China's threat if the USA didn't invade Iraq. It's the same threat the USA made to Great Britain during the Suez Canal crisis.

FDR is kinda the epitome for what not to do in a capitalist society.
