You site is definitely not banned/deindexed as it still figures on the top for its domain name. You must have had beginner's luck in having the top spot in serp for your keyword. Now that your site is relatively old, you need to work more... to get back your position! :(

It seems that it was my home page that was doing so well for the keywords but now it isnt ranking at all, i re-wrote this page from another site of mine could this be because of dupe content?

I have experiences the similar with many of my websites regardless to how high link built towards them. This is a common Googlebots behavior lately. I would recommend you do not pay too much attention and focus on link building instead as long as it is not effect your website ranking. Those de-indexed pages will come to be indexed again, and will be de-indexed again and on and on....I just said from my own experienced lately.

I agree with Sxperm. Almost all new sites flux in ranking when it's first indexed by Google. If you ranked well for your keywords, I would take that as a good sign. From my experience, it means that your on-page optimization is on target. Just keep link building.

Don't worry about that. Just keep updating your site and I think you can get your site indexed by Google again.
According to what I know, it seems that Google are updating their data these days.
