Selling Wallpaper Website - with LOT of traffic - Google Images

    For sale is a website which I had forgotten about long ago - and its been sitting there on my hostgator shared server for over 5 months.

    I am a webdesigner - I do not run my own websites and for this sole purpose, I never monetized mine.

    Take a look at the traffic and the way its been increasing and you'll know you're looking at a good proposition if monetized even slightly.

    Cheers,
    Courage.

    P.S. Here are the stats :

    1) March traffic - 4840 hits - http://i44.tinypic.com/2ekoqit.jpg
    2) April traffic - till the 26th - 15k hits - http://i41.tinypic.com/x4otah.jpg
    3) Traffic comes from good countries - check this out - http://i43.tinypic.com/2j13hc8.jpg
    4) Traffic source is google images - over 13k of my 15k hits are from Google. 87% of my traffic is organic, google image search traffic ! - http://i41.tinypic.com/348oarp.jpg
    5) Screenshot of admin panel (detailed panel, menu on the right as you can see). Have shown that there have been over 640,000+ wallpapers viewed. - http://i41.tinypic.com/21zc0h.jpg

    Please see guys, the way the traffic has been increasing progressively - there is only one way the traffic can go -> upwards! :)

    Happy bidding!

    Nice site... pitty about the image sizes tho.. if you cater for all resolutions you would do much much better.

    :)

    I wish I could get my hands on a wallpaper pack which has larger resolution images.

    But hey, 1024 x 768 is still a common screen resolutions as far as most of our 'traffic' is concerned. Its only us 'geeks' and 'comp-enthusiasts' who have these huge monitor screens.

    Nice site. Did you ever used adsense on it?
    And I see you have adbrite on it. Made any money?

    @Moreplayerz.com

    Thank you for your bid.

    I'm afraid I never used AdSense on the website - I don't have an AdSense account.

    Also, I haven't used AdBrite on it - there must be a mistake - I haven't ever used any monetization method on it. :)

    Any server requirements?

    How big is the site currently with all the wallpapers? And when was the last time it was updated?

    Cheers

    Really? I took this from your site:

    I did a search on adbrite site:

    @Paulie,

    Nope - nothing spectacular. The site isn't big at all ! It is about 450 MB. That is all :) !

    Just that your server needs to have cPanel and needs to be able to run PHP files - both conditions are very common across most hosting providers.

    @Moreplayerz

    I am really baffled as to how that code got there - I must have put it there myself and forgotten about it.

    I do remember trying to apply for AdSense using this site though - they never got back to me, and like I said - being a designer, I really couldn't spend time trying to monetize the website :)

    I hope that answers your query :cool:

    Whoops, i was thinking of mysql which your site wont have so its not a prob :)

    (cant run mysql4/mysql5 on same server but can run php4/php5)

    Is there any chance you can install analytics for a short period to see more detailed info regarding where traffic is coming from?

    Ahh so there is a database? My server is running mysql4 currently as one of my sites use it. I know i cant have mysql4 and mysql5 on the same server. Is this mysql5 specific or will it be ok with mysql4?

    Are you able to assist the winner with transfering the site?

    This site is using the WSC script.

    Legal copy of the script.

    Design is custom made by me - coded into the script by a mate.

    Here is an updated screenshot of traffic.

    In the first 12 hours of April the 28th, there have already been over 600 UVs to the website.

    Paulie, I'm so sorry I missed that reply of yours.

    Yes, I will transfer and install the website on the winner's hosting.

    I'm afraid I can't figure out where to insert the analytics code.

    I've tried putting it wherever its supposed to be...(before the </body> tag and all)....but it wont' work :(

    Is there anything else I can do to get some other sort of tracking going ?

    I'm really sorry - I'm a code noob :eek:
    Same as above. :(
