Google has not done any major changes but many small changes are done all over it's product range-- That varies from webmaster to it's prime product search engine..

I wouldn't read to much into the page load time as google have said that this will effect less than %1 of rankings

Google might say that they have added another parameter of loading time for SERPs, but it's really not true.. I not only believe but has proven examples..
