Gmail Account temporarily disabled

I went to check my Gmail account and was terrified when I saw this message
Account temporarily disabled
My question is why did this even happen ?

 

Is there a chance you have had spam complaints or done anything illegal?

If not, then i'm sure it won't be long before you account is reinstated.

I guess they are investigating your account, i hope you dont have valuable infomation on gmail, cause if they dont reinstate - its gone forever.

Well it might be happened just bcoz some one tried to have access to ur account and entered wrong password again and again.

if u have given ur mobile no u can simply verfiy ur account by sending a verfication sms to ur mobile and it will get back.

 

+ have 10000s business emails need keep as well ...

This happened to one of my accounts. I tried signing in and it says account does not exist. Out of nowhere. Lost many many emails.

 

You can try to open with the secondary email which you might have provided in settings... Check it out..

 

have u sent any masss emails ? it can happen in such cases

 

are you running some website use this account,... if yes you may got spam protection so google banned your email
try again on sending verification code to your mobile phone

 

you need to wait for 24 hours.

If you want to get all your old mails stored in your gmail account:
Set up Windows Live and retrieve mail from my gmail account.
Download all mails/folder of your Gmail account.

 

Have you contacted google?
One more reason free email is not exactly free ... the loss of business emails.

I'm glad it's back, I just wanted to point out that, at this point, I'd say:

That sounds more like a problem on Google's side, than a problem with your account. a 500 is a generic server error, not a code you would be getting if they disabled your account.
