    I have heard about these types

    1) White Hat
    2) Black Hat
    3) Grey Hat

    And "Red Hat" No much idea about this.

    White hat seo means doing SEO for a site which is under googles guidelines.
    Black Hat means SEO which is unethical and which google hates like spamming and etc.
    Grey HAt means the SEO which Google hates but it is done as such that google doesnt catch.

    1) White Hat - SEo used as per the GOOGLE rules and regulations.
    2) Black Hat - SEo which is totally cocerned with spamming!!!
    3) Grey Hat - A SEO practice which is purely black hat seo but it may not be catched by "G" eye ( Hidden links)

    There are two type of Seo .

    (1) on page submission

    (2) offpage submission

    Various techniques are used for search engine optimization, or SEO.

    Black hat - is the illegal process website link is fast grow. Aftersome time search engine know these process. search engine block and bend this site.

    White hat - is the right and slow precess . after some time get more traffic. This is a right process get visiter.

    Gray hat - both are process flow ( black and white hat) of search engine optimization.

    There is black, white, grey as well as Blue Hat SEO. Blue hat SEO is using advanced SEO Techniques that is way superior than most.

    If talking about types, there are only three...
    1. white hat
    2. black hat
    3. gray hat
    all are explained above,....

    off page, on page are different technic or part of seo available in all above three...

    If you are really serious about your online business or SEO, should concentrate only on "WHite hat seo", dont even think what the hell is balck and gray hat...
