I've got about 6 LCD monitors in my house, some of them have food stains (dont ask) so a wet towel just wont do.... any suggestions? are all monitor wipes the same? any particular brand you can recommend?
food? Inquiring minds want to know! myself included. (how to clean it not the food details ) this looks pretty accurate: Clean your LCD without damaging it
Ugh...... if you take a plain white undershirt t-shirt and just use your finger to gently rub away any dirt on the screen it works fine. As for food splatter about the screen... i dunno.... excited to get a sale or something?
I got a cannister made by a company called IXOS containing 100 Large Screen Cleaning Tissues that are specially designed for TFT, LCD, PDA, laptop and scanner screens. They feel a little bit dry but seem to clean my screens perfectly without appearing to damage them. This was from PC World in the UK, I don't know if they are sold in other countries.
Thats not a very bright idea. Finger prints and the toughest to get rid off. I never let anyone touch my laptop screen or desktop LCD.
Believe it or not but i use a credit card or any other plastic card to scrape my LCDs and nothing else. But yet again its usually just dust.
I think you mis-understood him he's saying finger + t-shirt and then touch screen...but even then over time I would think the oils from your hand would penetrate the t-shirt unless you were diligent in making sure you were using a new portion every time.
I dont mean your actual finger. I meant to put your finger underneath the tshirt and gently rub. Cotton material is just fine.
yeah but toilet paper has lint, so you're replacing one type of dirt for another .. I found some screen cleaning fluid and a lint free clothe so I'm gonna give that a go. thanks for that link timsdd
I use these: http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=compucessory lcd wipes&sa=N&tab=wf One wet, one dry and NO STREAKS!
HAHA so do i! After the start of this thread i was getting nervous i was the only one to do this and thinking i was doing something really wrong! It works great and havent had a problem. I am addicted to that canned air though and blow out my keyboard alot lol.
glass cleaner or cooton soaped in alchool just make sure that your tfd/lcd/monitor is off if you use to much liquid.
definitely you should have a sun glass at your home , you can take that soft cloth used for sun glass , that cloth is the best to clean all your monitors without any stain
