how to submit a sitemap to google webmaster tools

I finally got a sitemap file done, what do I do to submit this? I'm new to this.

 

you need to create an account here, validate ownership of site and submit the sitemap - http://google.com/webmastertools

 

from where u got that file ?

 

You just create webmaster account to sing in. Simply add your site on web master tool and it provides set of site verification code. you need to add those keyword in your site source code. After site verified you will see the link of site map click on it and type for www.domain.com/sitemap.xml and automatically it will uploaded to webmaster tool.

 

You need to validate yourself as the owner by uploading the Google.html file or uploading the relevant text inside the metatag. Next go to XML-Sitemaps website to create the XML files. Next, upload it to the server and let the Webmaster Tools know where the XML file is.

 

which type of site map are you using.

 

Upload generated sitemap on your server, then check online. After that login in to webmaster tool & open sitemap section, paste your online sitemap url in to the box and click on submit button....

 

simply Do the following;
---Create Web Master Tool Account
---Add the Website
---Click on the added website link
---Clink on Left Side button "Site Configuration -> Sitemaps"
---Click on "Submit a Sitemap" and submit the sitemap.

 

thank guys! I submitted it. It says it hasn't been indexed yet, thouth, I did it yesterday, about how long would it take?

 

Submitting your sitemap will not get your site indexed, although it may help. If you want to get indexed quickly post content daily, SocialBookmark your new pages, and post comments on blogs that get indexed daily. Do NOT spam!

To find blogs that are indexed often, enter the url of the blog in Google search. In the search results, click on cached link (see image below) to see when G last visited the website

 

In webmasters, click submit sitemap and give your sitemap URL there..!

Make sure you already have made a site map before giving its url there he he he

 

After signing in to the google webmaster tools you can add your site and the sitemap.

I use the above, create sitemap and upload to your server, make a robots file and then submit above.

 

You need to upload the sitemap and then click on a link that Google webmaster tools provides.
