I have a question. My landing page is a blog and its a review on the product im promoting. I was wondering is that a good idea or should it be a page about something else?

That is one way, if you are promoting something like software, do some comparison reviews on a static page and make it look less personal and more professional.

Not too bad. It depends on what your visitors clicked on
to get to your blog. If the pre sell is structured to make
them expect a review, why not?

If the review is good enough, then they ought to buy.

yeah that doesnt sound like a bad idea as long as you are getting traffic to it or something

A blog-style review/pre-sell page can be the best option. In fact i have most success with such sites based on wordpress.

An honest sounding review or comparison is how your landing page should be. It shouldn't look too much like you are trying to sell the product. This way the reader will believe it is a good product before getting to the sales page, and then if the vendor's sales page is good, it will sell them.

Reviews convert very well. The best I've found, is to review a few products against one another and reaffirming which one is best at the bottom of the page. This way, once they read the reviews, there is an obvious winner.
