Hello, I have hard time increasing my PR. I have posted on other forums asking what to do and they told me social bookmarking, forum posting, blog making, ect... but actually there is not much content in my website to make a blog about it. I have tried to ask other websites for link exchange, but no reply. My website is hottest-rated.com I think that I would try to add some content to it to higher my page rank hottest-rated.com/datingtips.php but I'm still a bit skeptical and not really experienced in SEO. PR = traffic and thats what I'm looking for. I got one backlink from a website of PR1 with relevancy (I use linksmanager.com and asked 100 websites for link exchange but only one replied, so now I have 100 outbound links on my website hottest-rated.com/links.php) that's all at the moment. Do you have some suggestions?
To me, if you want to increase PR without building (ie writing content) I'd suggest doing a profile linking spree. Angela, Paul and Terry Kyle have packets and they should get you to a PR 3-4 within the 3 months it takes to get to the next PR update. Best of luck, let me know if you need help!
Hi ruyy, you could find some membership sites with .gov or .edu extensions and sign up, then add your url in your profile. You don't even have to add any content. Just do it and leave it.
Someone told me that urls in profiles don't give much PR and if .gov or .edu don't have relevancy to my website it doesn't give me much PR at all either?
If I was in your place I would have started building quality backlinks without even bothing for pr. Imho don't care about pr much.

If you want increase your PR, what have to do is get quality backlink, more backlink much better and what have to do to get quality backlink, if you wanna free search here list dofollow blog or you can make a lot of dummies blog, sign up and create free blog from many site that offer free blog there. And link to you main site, but It's need much more time to process, if you want instant (I mean in one update google) get backlink from higher PR That's it, what I have doing and get PR 1-3 for my site
Thanks for the useful reply. If I want instant PR increase do I get as much value of the backlink by making it anywhere on the high-PR-website or do I have to ask that website for backlink to get a good value out of it? If I didn't make myself clear: how do I get backlink from higher PR?
Getting backlinks from other high page rank pages/sites is more important than random backlinks from anywhere. Focus on those sites with high PR first. You can of course buy aged domains (pre-owned) with existing page rank at a reasonable cost and take a lot of the pain out of it all.
First of, PR ≠traffic. SERPs = traffic. Increasing PR is not a simple task of adding a few links, it is an ongoing link building campaign. A lot of it depends on links, coming from quality websites. Link exchanges are less effective than one way links, because search engines view it as a way to manipulate PR. I scratch your back, you scratch mine kind of thing.
Increasing PR does not always mean an increase in rankings or traffic. If you will go the backlink building route, I suggest spend your effort on long term benefit. I mean, try to build stable backlinks. The ones like from a quality article on a high PR article directory or a quality comment on a high PR blog, or a forum profile with lots of signature backlinks that does not look like spam. You can add a lot to the list. Creating profile backlinks, spamming other sites or anything like that will not help you in the long run. I had done nearly all methods of backlink building and the ones which give the most PR juice in a short time are the weakest ones, as opposed to what the majority will claim.
The problem is that only SEO forums allow links in signature, others take it as an ad and delete it. And SEO forums don't have any relevancy to my website, so it doesn't give me much PR...
I would ditch every outbound link for a start. Go to www.textlinks.com and sign up there, you get 25 free contextual backinks for registering. I've used it and it does work.
Its not true.Search result position & PR is different & only high page rank doesn't bring high traffic.
profile linking is done by creating an account and putting your site on the profile account most profile page has website portion....
I concur with this opinion. If serp and traffic is what you are looking for... then PR should be the last thing on your mind! Regards, RightMan
