Choice, if there is a God its best gift was that of free choice. Without it life would not be a gift, it would be a meat prison for the soul.

Most likely life in general, but also nature, other people, emotions between them and everything that will make life sufficient if we can work for it.

The very best gift that God ever gave to me or anyone else in the world was to give his son Jesus to die on the cross and believing this would save us and give us eternal life.

    All the best … Ron

God? Who is God? Do you guys really believe in this non-sense? I'm sorry to disappoint anyone who hopes to go to haven at some point, but we all will rot in the ground when we go, and there is nothing else to it...

So you've been dead? Did you bring any evidence of your claims back with you when you came back from the dead?

I personally thank god for the religious and religions of all sorts, including Atheism. They give us a reason to feel superior about ourselves, look down our noses at others and call them idiots.

Oh, and you have right? Aside from grill marks on toasts and stuff like that, is there any evidence at all that any of the non-sense from the Bible existed? I don't deny the slim possibility of creationism being true (we just don't know for sure), but until someone comes up with some rational explanations and evidence for that theory, I'm with the rest of rational people who reject the fairy tales and believe in science and evolution. Makes much more sense to me.

Religion may fill in the blank as being the difference from science which is incapable of thought....only facts.

I'm not the one who made this claim:

"I'm sorry to disappoint anyone who hopes to go to haven at some point, but we all will rot in the ground when we go, and there is nothing else to it..."

You make a claim like that, you have stepped way over the boundaries of what science can prove, so please don't claim to be a man of science or that science is on your side.

All I'm saying is that science makes much more sense than the creationism. At least to rational people. I'm not denying the fact that both could be wrong for all we know, but until someone presents a better attempt at explaining how we came about, I'm with the scientific explanation all the way.

I'm with you on that. I'm just saying that putting words like that to print is almost as offensive to me as some christian who says, "I'm sorry to disappoint anyone who doesn't live a Christian life, because you are going to burn in hell while I go to heaven when I die". Nobody knows what happens when we die, and I think most Christians in America acknowledge that on some level. That is why you don't see too many of them piping up about it, making claims like the one above. When they do, I think they deserve an equally derisive response.

Sorry for being such a nit picky whiner, but if you had phrased it, "There is no scientific evidence that we do anything more than rot in the ground when we die", I would have had no issue with it.

At the same time though, it is my opinion and nothing more. Everyone is entitled to believe in one thing or another, and this happens to be what I stand behind. Agree with me or not, it is just as good or better of an explanation for the issue at stake.

Any materialistic dreams can be fulfilled by our own efforts and hard work. One can't expect god to gift you anything. A peaceful happy life is the only gift i expect from god....nothing else.
