Hi all, I hope someone will help me I am a newbie in webmaster stuff. I have changed URL in my wordpress blog, and deleted non www from my webmaster account, and submit my blog with www-version. I typed: site:blog.web6.org and typed site:www.blog.web6.org Google shows different amount of my posts. Is this called duplicate content???? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas..
Nope this will not count as duplicate content, Google will see that there is two versions of the same URL and it will pick what it thinks is the best and de index the other.
I see that you have put a 301 redirect to the www version, Knowing this now Google will de index all the none www versions and index the www versions. If you see any none www versions with site: this is because these pages have not been crawled by Google recently for them to get de indexed and replaced.
Well.. Google will remove your site without www and adds it with www soon.! Why to panic?? be calm.. Google is overloaded and it cant excecute it within hours..! just give it some days..!
Sorry, but I have to disagree a bit, Google can craw all the web within a few days. Depending on how high your page rank is will determine how often the Google spider visits your site. If you have a PR of 5 and post a new blog post that post can be picked up within minutes.
no, that's not duplicate content!.. duplicate content happens when you copy/paste content from another website, word by word, phrase by phrase! some say that duplicate content does not matter that much, but i'd strongly advise everyone to write their own contents
There is no duplicate content penalty. It is a legend. Google tell it to all world last month. They do not give a penalty such as duplicate content.
