But, as someone mentioned, if you're working on an offline Business - it's best to learn about Local SEO.

IMO, Quality Content + Quality Backlinks = Higher Ranking

You have to have optimized content and then quality links from authority sites in your niche.

 

Write and Do everything in your blog/website for humans, instead search engines. This is what Google trying to teach through their Youtube Googlewebmasterhelp channel.

off page (one way,two way,three way link exchange , blog commenting , forum posting)

Make sure your links are all active, not broken.

 

Do On page optimization.Then create as much backlink as you can by submitting to directories,blog comment,forum posting,article submission etc.

 

All of the SEO techniques I know are effective. Only if you do them regularly.

 

IMHO, creating your own blog and update them regularly with revealing post can have good impact on your site. You need also to comment on do follow blog relevant to your website.

 

For SEO in 2010 Speed of Site Matters Much more... Design site in such manner that it gets load fast.
