Mass automatic directory submission. Good for anything?

There are services that will submit website to 2500+ website directories. It seems that this won't work with Google. Will it work with Yahoo or Bing?

    No good mate,
try looking for semi-automatic submission or manual submission services. They are usually pretty good (if you find the right one).

Automatic submission is just a waste of money. Go for manual. Manual method might take time and cost you more but the result is really good.

I have seen many peoples using same automatic directory submission software and got different results. It could save your time but could be a disaster for your website ranking too if you do not use it properly.

Even I do not like this kind of automate software personally, I would encourage you give it a try and see if you liked it or not. Mass directory submission is still works for major search engines, but you cannot rely solely on this type of link to archive results in many high competitive keywords. There are a budget to spent on anyway.

No, autogenerated submissions are very detrimental with regards to all search engines - they are considered spammy. Semi-automated services are genuine, and fast.

Sxperm said it very much right except the one in above quote. In no case automatic directory submission become disaster, but that will be just time waste whatever you give in auto submissions.

I'll say only one thing.... if you are submitting your site to quality dirs and in right category with right title and description according to category then it works otherwise not. If you tool can make it possible then it will be good to use. And 100% of software cannot do it.

problem with automated submission is that the tool cannot read the submission form and attempts to submit using the already filled submission data. if the tool doesn't find the right category on a certain directory, it will then submit to a random category or the first category which will be incorrect. most directory owners will reject sites that are not submitted properly under the right category. so if you mass submit to 2500 sites, there is a chance that a good portion of the submissions will never go though. besides, there is no need to submit to 2500 directories in one shot. just do 500 or 1000 and wait for a month before you submit another 500 or 1000. in the meantime, utilize other link building methods for a mix and better result
