Embedding YouTube Videos And Getting Them To Play In WP Problem

    Hey guys,

    Alright, now YouTube allows you to embed code into my wordpress blog and play the video . .. . or at least it used to.

    I have embedded posts before, and I know they worked becuase someone made a commnet quoting something in the video.

    Recently, I embedded the code and without any thought I posted it up. Well, it didn't run. I checked another youtube embedding and found it no longer worked either.

    I use WP 1.5 (yes I know I really need to upgrade and am working on doing this ASAP).

    How can I get the stupid video to play, and why is this happening?

    Check and see if the rich text editor is enabled - its somewhere in the dashboard options and seems to wipe off the embeded code.


    Wordpress has removed embeded video support from the latest version due to "security" but you can try the Viper Video plugin.

    I have no problem embedding videos, just be sure to turn off the rich text editor while publishing the post, you can turn it back on after.

    mdvaldosta what version of WP are you using? I have no problems with 1.5 but 2.0 is complete pain.

    Hmm, seems like that option is in 2.0. I'm using 1.5.

    The code is just the embed code you can got off of any video from Youtube.

    I might try the plugin.
